So, I had about 10 minutes to complete a relatively easy 20 question test... I answered about 16 questions.

Granted, this was just a fluff test but I'm still deeply troubled that I raced through this thing and still didn't have enough time to finish it...

I have NEVER not finished a test before. What should I do? I spoke to the teacher (who is a stranger to me, I've never met her before in the school) and she insists that it doesn't count for too much (everything counts!) and that it is not crucial to score a top mark in the course in order to be admitted where I want to go (assuming that I'm heading for our equivalent of a flagship state university, which is decent but is ultimately a safety pick).

Argh... should I dead it and move on? This isn't fair...

Same situation for me: 8 minutes for a 20 question quiz today. (actually 7 considering we had to be evacuated from our building and had to switch over to the next block)
The reason why: in preparation for the multiple-choice section of the AP section

How much time did the other students taking the test with you get? You need to stop putting so much importance on every test or assignment determining your college acceptance. You won’t survive the rest of high school, srsly.

Same exact thing happened to me, except for it was on a much bigger scale.

In sixth grade, we had to take a test to see how we did with learning Algebra. We had 35 minutes to answer 40 questions. The teacher stopped us at 35 minutes. We complained, and she was like “Oh! Yeah, ok. Go ahead.” And then she stopped us again… after only two minutes.

In order to qualify for Accelerated Math, you has to score a minimum of 36 right.

I only answered 36. But I got 35 right.

So, thus, I wasn’t allowed to take Accelerated Math, which means, I can only get up to AP Cal. AB and not BC.

If I ahd qualified for Acc. Math, then I would have started Algebra I in 7th grade. Not 8th grade.

Do you know how much that infuriates me?

Anywayssssssssssssssssssssss… Talk to the teacher about it. Maybe she can curve it up. But 16/20 is only 80%. So… the highest you could have made was an 80… which in a lot of schools is a C… and that could really bring your grade down.

Please don’t fret. I just feel like I did horrible on a science test today…so i know your pain. BUt really, its just a small score in the grand scheme of things (and yes, I can’t believe I am saying it because usually people tell me this) but its true. It’s only september so we should try to chill out!

Which makes it 20%… which is a lot. Two-Three letter grades.

I mean… take off 20% from a 94%… and you get 74%… which is going from an A to a D.

Although I do agree… it’s one grade out of several… which is probably out of two quarters and two exams or four quarters and two exams… so it might be worth… only 1 or 2% at most in the long scheme of things, if even.
