Okay so I got deferred and I know the reason why I was deferred was my ACT score, but I didn't have enough time to study and retake. I have two jobs and I volunteer a lot. Should I inform the school? If so, how should I. I really want to get in RD.

If the ACT is really the reason you were deferred then contacting them to say you don’t have time to retake it will NOT help you. It shows which things you value more.

Thanks for your opinion and trust me, it was the ACT.

You could email the regional admissions counselor for your area, but don’t mention the act’s. Just reiterate how much you love the school and it is your top choice and you will attend if accepted. That would be the only thing to do really.

Yeah. I have a letter I’m going to email to her and I won’t mention the ACT.

If you really want to get in RD then you should retake the test. Non-job ECs should not have a higher priority.

I know that non-jobs should not have a higher priority, but I have two actual jobs. I have several APs that I want to excel in and I help my grandma babysit. I have greater priorities than the ACT. I feel that it is unfair that one test makes or breaks me getting into my first choice school. I’m not the smartest person in the world, so I can’t complain about my score, but I do try really hard.

hey email the regional officer and show interest. also send in extra letters of rec and a letter of interest if they allow it. go visit the school too.

Thanks! I visited in November, sent in an LOCI two weeks ago, and I emailed my regional rep yesterday. I have a question. I wrote a speech for Girls State and I really love this speech. It speaks a lot about me. Do you think I should send it in as an extra add-in?

I think you should ask them if they allow extra materials , When I got deferred I emailed a counselor and asked them if I can send in stuff like a letter of interest
and also a letter of rec. I’m sure you can. Good luck… btw where did you get deferred, if you don’t mind me asking?? Take care…

I emailed my regional rep and she encouraged me to send in materials. I got deferred at Johns Hopkins…sigh and I don’t mind at all.
