My college offers "relatively short term counseling" on campus. What is considered "relatively short term"? I'm guessing like 6 weeks?

Anyone had experience with their college's counseling center?

Anyone had experience with their college's counseling center?

Is this emotional/personal counseling or classes/majors/careers counseling?
For the former, I would assume this is less of a set time and more about them trying to say that they'll help out if you're struggling through parents, friends, relationships, etc. but if you have a chronic condition like true depression they'll want to refer you elsewhere.

I went through college counseling.

Basically roommate issues. I felt that it helped me by having someone to talk to and express my concerns to, and basically seek advice. It's probably short-term as they might identify your issue, and maybe refer you to a specialist to further assist you. Perhaps mostly emotional and personal issues that are stressful, and the first few hours are the most crucial as you might be disoriented and causing harm because of too much stress and nobody to help you relieve the stress.
