All the schools I applied to ask for all of my high school transcripts, but my counsellor only submitted my year 12 ones. He has already submitted all the documents (school report, final report, etc.) on the Common App. I finished school in December as I’m an international student. Does anyone if my counsellor can upload the transcripts on the Common App again, or will he have to individually email all the schools?
Your guidance counselor should know the answer to this question. Why does it matter to you?
My counsellor has little experience with the application process for American colleges - that’s why he didn’t know that he had to upload all the transcripts. It matters to me because I’m one the who won’t be accepted if not all of my transcripts have been submitted. @sophie9999
I would care if I were you! I assume he can upload more items.
Thank you, @intparent. I’ll double-check that with the Common App people soon. I just wanted to get some initial thoughts from CC before I started wasting my money on international calls.
The reason it seems like he should be able to is because they upload other items part way through the submission process, like mid-year reports. But someone else who knows for sure could chime in.
Good job for staying on top of it. Yes, it does matter to you. The colleges want to see 4 years and will say you have an incomplete application without it. However, I would imagine that the admissions officer is specifically assigned to international students and is used to helping GCs out a bit. Good luck!
Ah, okay @intparent @phoenixmomof2! My counsellor has already uploaded all the required documents (inc. final report), as I graduated from school in December. But I’ll definitely give the Common App people, or the university admissions offices, a ring to find out more. Thanks once again!
I have encountered a similar problem myself. I went to a different school in my 9th and 10th grades, a fairly common practise in India. My counselor uploaded the 11th and 12th grade transcrpits, leaving the other ones out. I spoke to a college board executive and she told me that the counselor from my previous school is supposed to correspond with the colleges and send the remaining transcripts through email stating my Full Name, Common App ID, and School Name. Perhaps your counselor could do the same.
@rahuilmars231 You’re a legend! Thank you! I was hoping that was an open option.
