Counsellor's recommendatoin - but I don't have a counsellor!

I'm studying in a Singaporean school. Sadly, I'm among the first graduating batch the school has ever produced, and as far as I know, we don't have a college counsellor!

So... who should write the letter of recommendation as a counsellor? Here are my options:

my head teacher (who is also my chemistry teacher. I intended to let him write as a subject teacher, actually)

the principal (he's new and i hardly know him)

one of the teachers in charge of university admissions and scholarships (she's teaching another class English, but she knows me from a competition)

So which teacher should I choose to write as the counsellor? what kind of things are the counsellor supposed to know about me?

Thank you so much for your help and patience!

I would say the teacher in charge of university admissions but I’m not completely sure. Maybe call up or email one of the colleges you’re looking at and ask what they would prefer.

Really, in my school, the counselors don’t know all the students that well (like not that personal). We just give them a resume of all the things we do (like ECs, awards, etc), they look up your transcript, and then write a recommendation based on that. It’s better if they know you though - like your character or they have seen how you’ve grown academically.

Thanks for that quick reply! I will email a school about this matter. Seems reasonable that the counsellor doesn’t know every student – although it’s always better to have a more personal and lively account of the applicant in one of the letters.
