So i'm all but ready to send my early decision application to Northwestern University, except that my counselor has not yet agreed to the ED on the common app. I had already talked to my counselor, who had agreed that I should apply early, but everything is finished except for her agreement. The school report that she is supposed to submit has already been submitted, but where it says "ED Agreement", it says my counselor has "Not Started". Am I supposed to submit the common app and then she finalizes it by agreeing to the ED agreement? Should I wait for my counselor to agree and then submit the application? Would submitting the application before my counselor agrees to the ED affect it in any way?

My daughter had the same issue with her early decision app to Santa Clara U. For some reason the counselor never saw the ED agreement form but did send it the school report. We just found out today, called the SCU admissions office and they basically said too bad, you missed the deadline, “it’s not our problem.”

Hi, just wanted to give an update to this issue from a while back. It turns out my counselor had not agreed to the ED form on purpose because she wanted to meet with my parents and confirm (even though they had given their consent) that they were willing to pay Northwestern University’s killer tuition fees. She had informed and prepared the university of what she was doing, so my ED was still accepted. Anyways, I think it would be better to definitely hand it in well before the deadline and triple check with the counselor to make sure everything is alright and goes through to avoid the confusion that @Annebelle and I went through.
