Counselor Contacted

So a few weeks ago (like before January was over) yale contacted my college guidance office asking my college counselor to upload my mid year report... Well why did this happen? Like why would they do this so early on? My school ended up having to do my 7 semester transcript early. I mean not that I mind but just wondering why...

Bump…10char

If you’re a very strong applicant, one possibility is that you were considered for a likely letter… But that’s just speculation on my part, and so I don’t recommend that you start counting your Ivies before they’re hatched. Maybe they just happened to be reviewing your application at that time and wanted the whole thing.

^^^ I highly doubt it has anything to do with a Likely-Letter.

A mid-year report is REQUIRED from every student; it’s part of the applications Instructions. Yale will not evaluate your application without the mid-year report. See: [Application Instructions & Components | Yale College Admissions](Application Instructions & Components | Yale College Undergraduate Admissions).

Haha I thought it was for a likely letter too because it happened about the same time yes weekend likelies were being sent out, but I’m not a stem applicant. I understand that the mid year report is required but why was my school called about it in mid-late January.

So yeah, anyone with any insight into this?

Bumpppppppppppppp

check the yale app instructions

None of us are admissions officers, and certainly none of us know what they were thinking. If you didn’t receive a likely letter, well, that’s your answer. I wouldn’t read too much into really anything and just enjoy the rest of senior year. What’s over is over.
