Counselor Rec!

When I applied ED, the recommendation my counselor wrote was brief and poorly written. I am currently deferred, and he has since revised the rec and made it much better, and I'm wondering if it's worth sending Columbia the new version. Will it help or will the adcoms simply wonder why I have two recs from the same counselor?

It won't matter one bit. You don't get accepted or rejected based on what your counselor says.

If it doesn't hurt, it can only help.

This is an error in logic. If it's the case that it doesn't matter one bit, neither hurts nor helps. Ergo, that it doesn't hurt does not imply that it can only help.

Columbia2002=mr. sunshine

There is still a probability that it can help, even if the probability is very small, the probability is not zero.

If it "can only help," as you've proffered, the probability would have to be one. There is a HUGE difference between "it can only help" and "a probability that it can help."

You're right. My second statement was a correction of my first statement.
