Counselor says I may be in trouble (killing me)

Grades:

AP Euro A-

AP Physics B

AP Literature B-

AP Comparative + US Gov B

AP Calc B

French 4 C+/B-

Will I get the warning/rescind letter over the summer?

I would have a very hard time believing that you would, however, I don’t work at UVA so I can’t be sure (of course).

I don’t know how far your grades dropped from winter to spring. My son was accepted early decision in '04 and had a definite drop in some of his least favorite HS classes. He received a letter after submitting his final grades asking to explain this change. I think he had a C in couple of classes where he had basically been straight A’s. They accepted his answers to their questions and graduated from the university in '09. I don’t think you need to worry but they might send a letter just to keep you on your toes! To rescind I think you would need completely disastrous grades.

My counselor was all overdramatic about it, saying how UVA would never admit anyone with a C+ on the final transcript.

She went on further to say that receiving the warning letter would require her to submit extra paperwork and such.

Doing well on the French final is my number one focus now (will be on Tuesday), but I’m a little confused.

Who should I believe: my counselor or you guys?

You will not get a letter.

I don’t know any school that requires paperwork to be submitted by the school after the final transcript is sent.

There’s your answer. Have fun in August and say hello to UVA for me

Someone’s a worry-wart…

Studied hard for the final, but the test turned out to be horrendously difficult. C+ for the year…Mon dieu!

My heart is sinking into my stomach.

You’ll be OK. Just figure out what went wrong and don’t let it happen again.

I got a 79.47 as my final grade. I needed a 79.5 for a B-.

Well that’s just bad luck. Did you ask your teacher for a sympathetic .03% grade increase?

On the topic, yeah, you’re fine. The rest of your grades are good, and the least I’ve heard someone getting rescinded at any college for was multiple Ds.

^^^Yes, but she wasn’t very merciful.

I guess all I can do now is wait and hope that I never get the letter.

You need to relax
