Counselor Stuff Deadline

Hi. I had submitted the application along with the writing supplement and rushed the SAT scores; the teachers and peer recommendations are submitted too. What’s remaining is all of the counselor’s stuff, so I wanted to know what’s the deadline for submitting the counselor’s papers?

According to the Dartmouth admissions website, your GC recommendation, school transcript and school profile (“GC stuff”, as you put it) are all part of what is required by the Novembrer 1 deadline.

I don’t know what they will do if your “GC stuff” is not in by the deadline. They may defer your application to the RD round. In your case, given that you are applying from the middle east, they may be willing to grant an extension given that everything else is complete. I would get in touch with the admissions office, and push your GC to get things in quickly.

Also in terms of the SAT scores, Dartmouth added a section on their FAQ where they wrote that they are aware of the delay in reporting the recently sent scores so they will use what you self reported on the Common App until it arrives.

I’m in a similar boat. I can’t turn my ED form in until Nov 2nd. I can’t reach addmissions office because it’s closed on weekends. Does anyone know if they will accept the form later?

ED Form shouldn’t matter, especially if you have a valid explanation for its being late. Just submit the Common App on time and do what you can with the rest.

Like my other response about the photo transcript, Dartmouth will contact your counselor directly if no materials have arrived and they are getting close to a deadline/milestone. On your end, I’d check in about 10 days and see if it’s been submitted. If not, then you might want to call Dartmouth yourself. If need be, speak to the GC’s supervisor.
