Do you know where I can contact the counselors (the ones that help you make your schedule)?

I think you’re talking about your pre-major advisor? You’re way ahead of the game haha. According to the college website ([Freshman Checklist](http://www.college.upenn.edu/freshmen/checklist.php)), you don’t really start talk about scheduling until June.

However, I’m sure you can talk to someone in a specific department if you have questions about a specific class.

You won’t hear from your pre-major advisor/peer advisor (possibly me!) until June. Until then, I encourage you to browse around the College website ([The College](http://www.college.upenn.edu)).

The courses for Fall 2011 are up on the registrar so that could give you something fun and productive to do before you graduate. If you’re in the college you can take up to 4.5 credits (a half credit would be for a lab). You will probably want to try to take the writing seminar you’re first semester because it is a very annoying requirement that you will be tempted to put off. The topic and professor for mine were great, but the writing requirements are quite tedious to say the least. If you have an idea of what you want to major in, look at intro courses in that area. If you are pre-med or want to major in bio/chemistry/biochemistry/bbb, etc, you probably want to take Biol 121 or Chem 101. It’s a good idea to take math too, so if you have BC credit that would be Math 114. Then just look for classes you are interested in to finish up.

thanks for the information!
well, since i’m in one of the structured programs, this is what my schedule looks like: [UPenn - SAS - Biology - Programs - Undergraduate - Other - Advice on Applying to Graduate School](http://www.bio.upenn.edu/programs/undergraduate/other/biodental.html) . However, after taking Economics, I wanted to see if it was possible to pursue a Double Major in Biology and Economics. I was thinking that if I get out of Statistics and Math 104 with AP credit and maybe Biology by taking the placement test, then would it be possible to use all the spaces for “GE requirement or free elective” to get the Econ major too?

Just remember that some of those GE requirements are your sector courses and you can only double count oh so many with your major courses (massive headaches over this…). Double majoring requires planning so you should tell your advisor that you’re thining of possibly double majoring.

In any case, all the AP credit/passing departmental exams are always helpful.
