Counsler got a Phone call __ ACCEPTED!

So I’m not accepted yet but I think my counselor got a phone call because the other day (Wednesday) she told me not to apply to all the schools on my list any longer. Of course I asked why and she said “I think you are going to get in, I just have a feeling the way the process has gone you’ll make it.” I said “well do you think I will get in the joint degree” and she said “I don’t know why you wouldn’t” If you knew my counselor she never tells anyone they have a shot at an ivy and a couple of weeks prior she told me that it could go either way but I was a good applicant. Do you all think the undergrad office started contacting counselors and my counselor knows something I don’t know?

Congrats!!

Congrats. No matter what, it is good news.

congrats! i wish my cg would tell me or hint to to me if i got in or not.

sounds like an acceptance to me

congrats! :D

I just dont want to get my hopes up and get rejected. what does your counsler say to you when you ask

congrats... wish I can get the same news from my GC... what school did you apply to?

do you go to a private school PennHunter?

I highly doubt that the undergrad admissions office would start making calls this soon, especially since the review process hasn't begun. I think that this is merely encouragement.

OHHHH...

i really want that to happen to me : (

but anyways good news for you congrats!

This is a good sign.

No, but my counsler knows some people at penn though (shes been in the business a while). There are no good private schools in kansas city. And why would they only call private schools that makes no sense. A college really doesnt care if you went to a public or private school as long as your a good applicant.

Actually, colleges do care if you're from a private school with good connections and/or many qualified applicants.

I dont understand. WHy would a college call the guidance counselor? Is this typical, or is there a special relationship between the two due to having worked together in the past?

let me get this strait, if the private schools suck like they do here you think it is still better to go thre, ummm NO

we dont know. I think it has nothing to do with coming from some private school

A boy at my school applied ED to Cornell last year and his guidance counselor told him a few times he would be accepted. He WAS NOT and he was devastated. His counselor was a jerk, apparently.

thats why i said i wasnt shure if it was true

Last year there was a boy at my school whose guidance counselor told him several times he would get into Cornell (he applied ED). Well, he DID NOT get accepted. He was REJECTED. He is now happy at Duke

she never said i was accepted
