[Countdown] for June 2009 SAT scores

This is not my opinion. If your scores are on your transcript, you should frankly consider asking your school to remove them as it may be ultimately harmful should you attempt to use score choice at schools that accept it. Here are a sampling of admissions offices’ policies:

Only one of my top five schools will even consider scores from an official transcript (WUSTL), and even they recommend against it. Feel free to do the same for your top five.

Yes, we will definitely check before sending. But, my point above was that it is probably best to remove any scores you don’t like from your transcript, but I am not sure I’d ever feel right about not sending all the scores to schools that “opt out”. Honesty must count for something.

hmm…how do you figure out which schools have decided/decided not to use score choice?

I’m not suggesting that you be dishonest. Send all your scores to those schools that require it (taking it off your transcript doesn’t mean that you aren’t going to send it); however, if a school advises that you send your highest sitting or highest section scores, then it’s simply not necessary (and sometimes to your disadvantage) to inadverdently reveal all your scores by virtue of your transcript.

Totally agree with that. My real point was that you should find out if your school has the scores on your transcript.

bw0jo, here’s College Board’s official list of schools and their score choice policies: http://professionals.collegeboard.com/profdownload/sat-score-use-practices-list.pdf</a>. And tokdoc, I completely agree about finding out if your school includes scores on your transcript (and, if they do, consider politely asking that they be removed).

I think that the Common App lets you know the score choice preference of each school you choose. And btw, that new app should be coming up i a day or two.
