Oh, the nerves.

In case MIT doesn't work out, where else are you looking?

Oh, the nerves.

In case MIT doesn't work out, where else are you looking?

PERISH THE THOUGHT. MIT or dh00m.

LOL

In that case, I'm inclined to choose... MIT.

I'm looking at Columbia as well.

There is no alternative. WE MUST GET TO MIT OR DIE TRYING!!

You heard Admiral Ackbar!

As far as I know they take the decisions to the post office on Dec. 15. You won't get it until a few days later. And be warned that last year there was a snow storm and a lot of the envelopes didn't even get mailed funtil several days after Dec. 15. My son got his in the mail on December 24. He called on the 23rd and they told him on the phone.

Good luck to all of you.

The icky nervousness is beginning to settle in. Just read on one of the admin officer blogs that 5 out of 6 will be deferred. (ick)

If MIT doesn't work out, I will be VERY sad and a nervous wreck as I stumble through the rest of my apps (except my safeties), but that could be a too thing too; I am coming down with "senioritis"

And thanks over30. Good luck to everyone else too :)

hahah that's the spirit!

except I can't make out what that mass of symbols is trying to look like =

I know, if I get into MIT I'll probably end up only applying to 1 or 2 more schools to see what they offer me in terms of financial aid. Otherwise, it's all out war with college applications day and night :(

There's always that fear in the back of my mind that I'm aiming too high... like I'm not going to get in anywhere beside UConn.......

If 5 out of 6 get deferred, then 1/6 get accepted!! That's 16.67%!! Keep your hopes up, everyone!

Maybe he had read only 6 of 1000s 8-| But you cannot change anything now. Do something else that can be of greater help.

okay amrik, like I said: the goomba man.

Seriously

Let's spend our time doing productive things, like making new images out of keyboard symbols, not worrying about whether we got into MIT.

Sheesh.

worries

I couldn't resist.

wheres the admissions persons blog?

that's one of them.

Go here (this is Matt's blog, he's asst. admission something or other). http://blogs.mit.edu/madmatt/posts/1208.aspx
In the first sentence on this page he links to 3 student blogs.

This is the guy who manages the MyMit portal and also does admission stuff.
http://web.mit.edu/benjones/www/blog/index.html

also applied to caltech early. hopefully i'll get into at least one early so my christmas won't suck.

We can all hope, can't we?

hate to burst your bubble, but if 5/6 are deferred, 1/6 are not admitted... you have to take into account the rejects... i heard that's a small category so, um how about 1/7 are admitted?

I'm pretty sure it's even less than 1/7. I don't think the number of admits EA = denies

I hear (# of admits EA > # of denies) < # of deferrals

I dono thou...

good luck!
