I'm bored....lol. So I decided that I would make a countdown for anyone else who is as anxious as I am.

Nice, you're counting down until 5:30AM. So just add on another 11.5 hours =P

Jaw,
Just saw you on another thread (another school) a few minutes ago...Hope you get into UVa! I won't start a controversy here, but I think it's the better school:)

Ok thanks I changed it until 5:30 PM....and I think UVA is the better school too :-) lol.

I thought making a countdown would help the wait but its making it feel longer

haha,

I have seen jaw prowling around the Cornell threads.

way to go for brownie points ;-)

Yea it does kinda make it feel longer but it will be here before we know it. I'm just so nervous about finding out. I was hoping that I got in for ED so I didn't have to suffer, but I was deferred. I just love those last five minutes sitting next to computer waiting for the time to tick as I await my future. It's all good though because I get to go through the process again, and for the last time, lol. Only 9 days left.

people are already hearing. what up with that?

^^The applicants who are hearing early are being offered particular programs at UVA such as Echols and Rodman. RD notification is still the same as jaw's countdown clock.

yep, and a lot of us got likely letters to tell us.

seuferk, didn't you get an ll from Cornell or am I confusing you with someone else? I would think that anyone who got a likley from CU would get one from UVa but I guess thats not always true

Don't underestimate a school like UVA, and don't overestimate a school simply because it's an "ivy"

I am not overestimating Cornell or underestimating UVa, I am simply saying that I think an applicant strong enough to get likely at Cornell should be able to do the same at UVa

Yes, I got a likely from cornell, and no, I did not get one from UVA. I guess I am just missing something that uva wants. who knows? pfft. it sure would have been nice, though.

well I got one from UVa, wanna trade?

haha, I am just kidding.

Hey! I'm debating between UVA, WM, and Cornell! Do u have a prefered one? I got into Cornell and WM and am waiting on UVA, VT, Harvard, and Yale. I really wanna go to Harvard but if i don't gwt in it will be between Cornell and WM. Does anyone know which is better???

That sounds like a great question for the Cornell and W&M boards, rustyram.

hahahaha

exactly a week guys.

rustyram,

UVa would have been one of my top choices had I gotten Rodman scholars. Not getting Rodman has not only been a serious blow to my self-esteem (especially after getting both a likely letter and a call from a girl in Rodman), but it also knocked UVa back a little on my list.

If I either don't get in or can't afford to go to Cornell, it will be down to UVa and Tech. Tough decision, and Rodman would have been a huge push to UVa...

edit how did you get into Cornell already? out of the ED contract or Likely? I am in at Tech because of the top honors program early notification, and likely at UVa.

Rusty, I think the choice between UVA and Cornell really depends on what you wish to major in and career goals. If you get $ to Cornell, that might also influence your decision. Only you can make the choice based on your interests and finances....

Cornell's ILR school (the one i applied for) is on rolling admissions. I applied early to Columbia and was denied :(. Now Im waiting on Harvard and Yale responses but they are likely denials!!! I think Cornell will be good for me and like evryone I know got into UVA early. For me that just really brings UVA down as far as im concerned. I do have to wait on FINAID from all my schools but I think the Cornell diploma could get me father than a UVA one, unles i want to work in VA. Im really torn, I heard from Cornell 1st and now I wish I had only gotten into one school! this descision s killing me. When i got my Columbia denial I started applying everywhere I was afraid I was not gonna net into any school. I think im the only person in the world who applied to Harvard and VCU! lol
