And 10s... how bout those IVs huh? Like magic!

oh yeah, felt so good, I was actually able to WALK when they were done pumping stuff into my veins

I hate IVs so much. I don't know why, but everytime I get sick here, they give me an IV. If it ever happens again, I'm just going to ask for a glass of water. They always miss my veins the first couple tries.

C-2 element leader.
lol...

how is it that they always manage to miss the veins? same thing happened to me when I got blood donated this year, i have pretty big and visable veins that are HARD to miss, but yes, they did it.... ahh the complexities of life i guess we will never know... well rats! :)

i've never had a problem with them missing veins for blood. then again, i've been told i'd be a great heroine adict too... lol

It feels really strange not to have gone through it!

Don't worry Buckaroo. You didn't miss out. If you don't have the chance to do "R" day; they allow you to go through BCT and Recognition again as a C3C. :) LOL!

They ALWAYS miss my veins... ALWAYS. I've never really had a thing with needles, but jeeze, after being here... every time someone comes at me with a needle I hear horror movie music, lol. And I guess it's a small world... C-2!

I've never had someone here miss my veins (THANKFULLY/Knock on wood). My friend was sick today, puking all night. They have him 2 IVs. He is still thirsty and still doesn't need the restroom! WOW!

If you fall out because of injury or illness or don't participate because of injury or illness do you still get recognized by the upperclass and do you still get your prop & wings?

Yeah, you still get recognized. You can't schedule when you get sick... believe me,I would have picked another time if I could have. Recognition isn't just about those three days, it's about the whole year. If you were a good 4 dig, you were a good 4 dig, whether you were able to go through recognition or not.

What did you upperclassmen do to these poor children? lol

...Recognition isn't just about those three days, it's about the whole year. If you were a good 4 dig, you were a good 4 dig, whether you were able to go through recognition or not.

So what's the point of going through it?

Luigi59 "So what's the point of going through it?"

It's an Air Force thing. You wouldn't understand. :-)

One of my twins went through Recognition with a fever in the 102-3 range and has had bed rest the past two days. I think he should be off tomorrow too but what do I know? What kind of gross bugs do you kids having going around there? You can keep 'em!

The point is that it's a culmination of everything you've been going through for the last 9 months. It shows you and your upperclassmen what you've become. It's an important experience to go through, and it's unfortunate when you can't. I did what I could, which was theme rooms, riding the sicky van to the rock, and the recognition ceremony on Saturday. This was certainly not ideal, but you take what you can get, and even though I wasn't able to go through the physical part of recognition, I, along with others in the same boat as me, still understand what it's all about. Recognition is about finally getting the chance to be recognized for what you've done, finally getting a "Good job". Ideally, the "good job" and pat on the back come after a weekend of showing what you're fully capable of, but when that can't happen, proving yourself throughout four degree year has to be enough.

Actually, a few in my squad have mono now. Flu-like virus is hitting many too. Be glad that S isn't the sick one (might be soon though!).

there's a rly bad 24-hr bug going around. i had it about 3 weeks ago, and some friends had it the night after Recogntion. then there's also the fever and mono thing hornet just mentioned. make sure your kids wash their hands often if they're returning home for spring break!

USAFA is going to single-handedly start a nation wide epidemic of about 5 different things next week

No one will be here next week!

I might have gotten what your son has, fencersmother. :( That or something else.
