Countdown to 2013 Decisions!

@Silverstag: Hmm, looks like we actually might be onto something…;-)

@Prepgrad2017: Well, I wish you the best, anyways! Be sure to tell us what happens on March 9! Yeah, it is really nerve-wracking, isn’t it? It’s my first year applying as well.

Derp. I don’t have a second chance. If I don’t make it in this year, it’s a regular public school then college.

Post grad?

I didn’t get a postcard yet either: off campus interview

I had an on-campus interview and I live in Massachusetts… I haven’t received a postcard from Andover, although I did submit my application exactly on February 1st, rather than an earlier date like others might have. But then again, my stats weren’t nearly as competitive as everyone else’s… haha this is making me nervous. But nevertheless, good luck everyone! :)

@januaryroses What were your stats and why do you think they’re not nearly as competitive as others?

@januaryroses: Compared to CC, my stats aren’t solid gold, either! Don’t underestimate yourself. :)

@Taft Applicants: Did you happen to receive a little something in your e-mails today? I just got an e-mail telling me that I’d get a link to my decisions on March 9. Taft is also mailing a package on that date.

@goldenratio @januaryroses what grade are you applying for?

@Prepgrad2017: 9th grade. And I’m going to take a gamble and say that you’re applying for 9th grade as well. ;)

Hey Goldie, i got the Taft Email, but it looks like it was emailed to every single applicant.

@bsroxmysox Although I received mostly A’s, I did get a few B’s throughout middle school, which seems silly to worry about, but it does worry me since it’s not nearly as good as applicants who got straight A’s every year. I also haven’t done as many extracurricular activities as people my age have. For example, where I live, most kids have years of band experience whereas I quit piano a few years ago… plus my SSAT was 83rd percentile. Judging from how competitive boarding school admissions are, I don’t think I have much of a chance… but of course I’m still hoping, which is why I applied :P

@GoldenRatio thank you for the reassurance! :)

@Prepgrad2017 I’m applying for tenth grade.

About 731000 seconds left! (until the March 9th 9AM EST announcement date anyway)
So nervous yet excited at the same time!

[Countdown to Mar 9, 2013 9:00 AM in Trenton](<a href=“Time since Mar 9, 2013 9:00 am started in Trenton”>Time since Mar 9, 2013 9:00 am started in Trenton)

@januaryroses: That honestly does not sound that bad! Every single year, my math grade would be a B (right now it’s a B+…I’m dancing a jig right now, thinking about it!) However, I’d get As in science, and straight A+s in everything else.

I don’t think an occasional B would wreck your chances; after all, doesn’t it mean, “above average?” What has become of us, to worry incessantly about an “above average” mark? Oh woe us, the perfectionists! Woe!

^Haha, that was a old-fashioned English style rant that poured out of my mouth like diarrhea. Sorry. :stuck_out_tongue:

Wishing all of you the best of luck with your decisions!
Our Spanish teacher read a few hundred applications to Exeter, and said that there was some tough competition – definitely many outstanding students out there. :)

I think its great that schools use teachers as admissions officers. On a side note: Most schools have already finished reading applications. I guess our fate has been decided.

@Silverstag: I think it’s great as well, because then I can actually meet with the teacher who teaches art, pour out my inner musings and show them some work-have them actually understand, and connect over the topic. :P

Haha, our fate has been set in stone; it is the sword that has been thrust into a hard boulder. Only King Arthur can pull it out now!

@ goldenratio it seems like we’re the only 8 th graders applying for 9 th grade. What luck! It’s my specialty you know? ;)

@Prepgrad2017: We ARE?!?!?!

Nope, me too :)

It seems like it since most people are applying for 10 th but let us hope…
