217 days!!

For any new members who are applying to BS next year ('09-'10 school year), let's countdown the days 'til March 10th, when most of us will receive our acceptance (hopefully) or rejection (boo!) letters.

217 days!!

god, march 10th was the longest day of my life.

NO. march 9TH was the longest day of my life!

About what time do the letters come? Do they send the letters the day or so before march 10th so they come RIGHT on that day, or do they come in slowly after march 10th?

i got one on march 10th,
one march 12th,
and one like,
march 14th
lol

Haha cool. Where'd you get accepted/waitlisted/rejected?

I got mine on March 8th and one on March 12th.

Andover acceptences arrive March 10th. (Best thing ever)
Other letters come from the 11th-13th, longer for waitlists and rejections.

depends on the school. my acceptance letters for thacher and taft and my waitlist from choate came on the 10th, my acceptance for cate came on the 11th, and my acceptance for emma willard came on the 12th

Cool. Jeez, so even more days to countdown.. Poop. lol

i checked online for most of mine-only taft and st. george's came in the mail
but middlesex, brooks, and st. paul's were all online
one i checked in the middle of class at school [we have laptops]
and the whole class was watching to see if i got accepted (including the teacher)...prob wasn't the best idea if i didn't get accepted but i did (thankfully) haha

Andover acceptances this year arrived by FedEx on March 11th, a Tuesday. If you go back and look at the posts from March 10th, you will see MANY threads asking "Has anyone heard from [fill in the blank] school?"

Many schools did have on-line notification on March 10th, some at midnight, some in the afternoon, and some at 6:00 p.m.

Note that for some schools the finanical aid letter was separate and arrived a few days later (Andover's came in one package, however).

I'm counting down with you, Saer (:

Cool, I'll have to check if some of these schools are online. Seems better than hoping desperately for the mailman. :)
Welcome, intrigue! Where are you applying?

Exeter was on-line on the 10th but the financial aid package took a few days via snail-mail. Hotchkiss was overnighted and arrived on the 10th. Lawrenceville was snail-mailed but arrived on the 10th. The waitlists and rejections were slower unless they were on-line.

countdown. let's keep this alive and active until the final day :)

i heard that sps' rejection or waitlist (forgot which) came by email much later than it was supposed to. but acceptance rates came at the right time. and i love sps <3
westminster came really fast. my friend got her letter (or if it's online, then nvm) on the 11th (we're international, so technically for the US it's the 10th)

who's doing interviews pretty soon?

We got SPS on-line on the 10th. It was the first one we were able to access.

I'm planning on spreading my interviews throughout the next few months, because my mom can't take more than 2 personal days a year, and we're applying to 3-4 schools (that's my mom's final number, I wish I could apply to more!). I'm hoping I can put two schools in one day, in late September/early October and then one school in late October. If I do apply to 4, not 3, schools, one of them will be in November but I hear that schools are really busy that time of year.

Some schools do Saturday interviews :)

Photo Op is correct re: Saturday interviews.

However.... They are taken very, very quickly. I called for our Andover interview the second week of September, and they had only one available appointment left, and I think it was in January. They only interview a small handful on Saturdays. Luckily, I did not need or desire a weekend interview, but it sounds like you do.

Call the schools you are interested in and find out what date and hour their appointment calendars open - and start scheduling!

Clarification:

I meant they had only one available appointment left on a SATURDAY, not in general - sorry for the confusion.
