Yeah, don’t dismiss yourself too readily… Remember that one of you posted a chances thread and had amazing stats so please, we’ll have none of it. It’s like that annoying kid in history class who whines like crazy after ever test, saying “Oh my God, that test was so hard, I totally failed.” Then they get the test back and are quite content to loudly announce that they got a 98.

Anyway… 20 days! It’s amazing.

Sorry guys
It was sarcasm. I do not remember posting a chances thread though, I may have leaked out some of my stats.

No worries! I posted a chancing thread way back when so insulting others for doing so is hardly constructive on my part and really quite hypocritical.

It was Exeter wasn’t it italianboarder

I have barely seen him share his experiences with us at non Exeter schools. I have seen a few times, but mostly Exeter (or Andover). Nothing bad, just saying.

… I was just joking. I’m not fishing for compliments. I’m a CCer and all CCers have fighting chances.

I’m also a full pay student (if thats what it’s called?). Hope this will help.

Not Exeter…
I’ve really felt like I’ve gotten the cold shoulder from them. My interviewer sent me a really sweet and personal email… And then nothing. I was told by a friend(Not a friend… He called my house and we talked… He works at admission’s at another school) to drop his name to the admission’s reps. I did… It was amazing. They really cared about my questions then.

My dad was offended(I was also) because we felt it was really… Two faced? The fact that they couldn’t care less about my concerns… Then they were “all ears”.

The reason 90% of my examples come from Exeter/Andover/SPS/Hotchkiss.
Exeter: Lacrosse coach, neighbor(Well, a few houses down), room mate(over the summer), employer and teacher went there… I found out randomly throughout the year.

SPS: A graduate turned out to be a legal consultant, and he got to judge me on a competition(A law based arguement). Three weeks later… He is my interviewer. I got lucky as hell, and basically we talked shop for an hour and then he said he has to fill out this horrible form that they make him do…

Andover: My interviewer really cared, and he really understood what I felt was important. I got to meet his friends who attended Andover, and he really enjoyed how family oriented I am(I am italian after all…). I loved the calls and letters I got, but at first I assumed every school would be that nice…(That is why Andover wasn’t my #1… Back then).

I found out in January that the Head Lacrosse Coach(For Girl’s and Boy’s) attended Boston College and roomed(or was in the same dorm) with Admission’s staff at Hotchkiss and Andover. He spoke with them about my application and he got me a Hotchkiss shirt… I wear it to work out one day, and it turns out one of the soccer players has a legacy at Hotchkiss. (4 Generations) I talked to his Dad for an hour about it… Really good to get a better look at it from an alumni’s point of view.

I know that Exeter called people but I’m pretty sure Andover doesn’t call anyone…:D

It gets harder for people to hide the schools they applied to, and most schools don’t call people so it’s easy to spot the ones that do once a little news is leaked.

Sounds like you in EVERYWHERE

That is assuming everything he says is accurate, but in that case yes.

I wouldn’t be surprised if italianboarder was an admissions counselor himself

He has an ultimate profile, almost unrealistic. He might just be posting all this embellished stuff for fun. idk, sorry if your not but his profile seems too good to be true.

seriously though… he is a paragon. The most perfect perfection of perfectionism.

Really?

Several times I’ve been intimidated by you guys… Alot of you guys seem to have more achievements in terms of music and art(I’ve been in three plays, but once I had to make the decision between arts/athletics I dropped it all(Which I really regret… I loved piano and musicals)).

I’m a sophomore… So some of my ECs are pretty different.

Yup. It has been established, there is NO WAY everything he says is true.

I was embellishing there, he could be god (no I am not being sarcastic). If he is all the more to him.

You are ignorant if you believe that my life is impossible to live. Sorry that I’m offended about that comment inparticular… I have had to struggle alot with people in general hindering my life. I really grind myself to death because I have passion about alot of my ECs. If you have any specific questions, please bring it up. I’ll be happy to explain if anything seems impossible. PLEASE DON’T GOSSIP, if you have a complaint or a doubt in your mind about what I say… Ask me. Maybe it is just a misunderstanding?

If you read my post about why boarding school you’ll see my entire story about why I’ve pushed myself(When I’ve been “hindered”). It is a pretty long story, no need to read it… But it may explain alot.

Read my last line. I just find it hard to believe you are passionate in ALL of the things you say. I get very little sleep and I really have a passion at the core for what I do, I find it hard to believe you can have such a passion with so many more things.

… I believe italianboarded. (I am not being sarcastic)

some candidates have everything…

What is better (I am not saying what I do is better). A well rounded person who is passionate (passionate to the millionth degree) in two things and pretty great in the others
or someone who is somewhat passionate (not as much as the other) but in many things.

I think they are both the same for people my age and BS age, yet as life moves on one will understand that delving deep into at least ONE thing is crucial.
