UC Berkeley freshman application decisions are coming out soon!

A month and a half to be exact. That's so near!!

...Just playing. Buttt, let's have a countdown thread for it anyways. :P

Good luck to all seniors applying this year.

People can also post whether or not they got regents here, which the invitation should arrive some time around 2/14(Valentine's). That's pretty much an early acceptance.

What is a regent? you said early acceptance? I didn’t know Cal had those! But they are probably as rare as likely letters to HYMPS right? meaning only 200 - 400 outstanding athletes or academics get them?

Regent is a UC scholarship. The offer to apply to Cal’s Regent is, in most cases, tantamount to an early acceptance, since only the top 1% of applicants get it. Though there have been cases where someone was invited to apply to Regent and then didn’t get in, in most cases you’re pretty much in.

Ack I’m so nervous now. I didn’t know Cal’s Regent came out so late! I assumed they all went out around the same time and since I got the Regent letter from Santa Cruz last week, that I didn’t get Cal.

HAHA top1% that’s like 500- 600 people out of 50000+!!! The chance of getting it, is so incredibly small that I don’t even need to bother to check my email.

I’m pretty sure people have confirmed that getting the Regents notification at Berkeley means you’re in. UCLA apparently is not quite as logical, and so this may not be the case there.

Hmmmmmmm, you don’t seem very excited about it. I would have been like the happiest person in the world had I gotten it, haha.

I’m happy I’m being considered for the scholarship, but I’m not taking it as a guarentee of acceptance. I mean I can’t imagine what getting rejected would be like after taking this still-theory seriously.

Now, if anyone would like to call the admissions office for confirmation, that’s another story, haha.
