Do they post online? or send email?

What? There is much to accomplish in a span of 41 days.

Exactly. So if you’ve got a lot to take care of over the next 41 days, it goes by in a heartbeat. If not, it takes forever.

I have nothing left to do. It’s unfortunate. I’ve gotten into rereading all of the Harry Potter books.

Haha, I had totally - well, not exactly forgotten, but brushed college admissions to the back of my mind before I saw this thread…

And ya, 41 days IS a long time. :(

I’ll be writing scholarship essays! Ohhhh, fun.

Are you taking a rigorous high school schedule?

Ten APs? Self study for 5 of them because for 2/8 of my classes, I leave my school to go research at a med school. And I independent study linear algebra. I just feel like I’ve learned everything that I’m going to learn, and at this point, I’m just sitting around doing nothing. Like, I was going to just self study 2, but then I got bored of my classes and dropped all of them so that I could do more interesting things.

I love high school though. So much fun. I don’t want to sound pessimistic. I actually love high school, but I’m ready for college.

@Anon, do you know if it “looks okay” to drop classes? My World History class is useless (it has a 50% passage rate, we’ve never had a lesson, and the teacher has told us “facts” that are completely untrue) and there’s a ton of busy work. If I dropped the class, I could study during the time I used to spend doing homework that doesn’t seem to help me learn in any way. And, I would have more time for the HW and self study I really need to do, like Physics, French, and, to some degree, Psych.

I don’t want to look like I’m slacking. My schedule already seems light, because it appears that I’m only taking four bells of academic classes and chamber orchestra. But I actually have 3 bells of science, not 2, as AP Phys C and AP Chem are both 1.5 bells. It also appears that I’m taking it easy because I took two college classes first semester and now take none. But, they ended, and my next French class was canceled because there were too few people, and none of the math courses that reasonably follow from MVC fit into my schedule at all.

I guess I should be asking my counselor though, not you guys.

From what I understand, it does look “bad” to drop classes. It might be too late to do that anyway, I mean, aren’t there only like 50ish days left of school? However, your class sounds like a huge waste of time. I think your counselor, on your final report has room to explain why you dropped classes, so if you can get your counselor to agree to explain why you’re dropping the classes. Though I imagine it’ll be hard to diss your teacher in front of your counselor. But maybe the overall payoff will be better? Like, if you can come up with something worthwhile to do instead of World History.

Bells? I’m guessing those are the same as “credits” at my school. Your classes seem fine, I mean, I don’t think one class is going to make a difference, and if World History is really that bad, I would drop it. Then again, I dropped all my classes without a care in the world, so maybe you shouldn’t listen to me. :)

40ish days left.

I can’t wait !! I’m an international student from Italy- on a gap year- spending some time in NY just because I didn’t know what else to do while waiting! I’m excited but at the same time I know my chances are not so good…

37 days 21 hours 46 minutes remaining.

just wondering, btw, what happens after you get the acceptance. like do you get a shirt? do you get invited to a pre-frosh weekend? do you wait to send in final transcripts?

34 days 3 hours 5 minutes remaining.

The time harvardlite said, minus a couple of hours. ;)

I’m from India and I have my final public school examinations right through March… Exams end on the 31st, decisions on the 31st… well well… it’s going to be quite a month…

^^Same here, except, mine end on 25th
But then I have all those crazy Indian college entrance exams starting 11. Either way my prep will be RUINED :P

I have my final exam on the first of April. It is going to be a fuuunnnnn night.
I am contemplating whether I’ll be opening the decisions e-mails after my exams, or right away.

…

Obviously, right away. I wouldn’t even be able to sleep if I knew my decisions were right there for me to feel depressed over, haha!

My exams finish on the 29th. Hopefully I shall be inebriated with joy (just joy. not actual alcohol) and celebrations and will be well braced to face whatever news lies ahead.

…who am I kidding.

(Do all the other Ivies come out on the same day, too?)

I hope that it is a happy day for me!

@meghna- yups
And you STILL manage to put in 6 hrs a day for the freaking ISCs. worships
