That's me. It's more of an ember, or maybe a burnt piece of charcoal of hope though...

OMG DECISIONS ARE UP!!! ACCEPTED!!!!!!

LAWL JK GUYZ!

No but seriously I'm quite nervous :(

Even though I scrolled to the bottom so I read the bottom of your message first and then the top, just reading those words made me anxious. Haha.

lol thanks ScaredAsHell. As if I don't already have enough heart attacks to deal with, lets just add one more :)

You're right... my flame's becoming a tiny ember.
I knewww that was a joke but it still made my heart jump. :/

^ man, I've already been accepted, but I still felt anxious for all of you guys...
I wish you guys the best of luck
:)

Haha I'm just stressed. Admissions haven't been going well for me so I'm pretty sure ima get rej. Everytime I see 7.5%, I die a little inside.

High school seniors are like cats. We die at least several times before we get our decisions, just like how cats supposedly have 27 lives (or whatever it was). Hopefully, we'll still be around when admission officers decide that they're done torturing us (jk admission officers -- I know you guys have a tough job and you are brave people for coming to work to finish your job)

That said, funny story time: When I first opened this thread, my browser redirected me to register for enrollment at Central Michigan University.

I must be in for some really bad news these few weeks. Even my computer thinks that way! :(

Some of them aren't so cool ab2013

No kidding... there are already some of those there.

My Stanford rejection letter: :(
Dear (Enter name here),

We regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission to (Enter name of college or university here). The overall applicant pool this year was especially competitive, and it is unfortunate that we had to waste our time reading your application. We understand your strong interest in our school, although we don't particularly care, and we are in fact sending you this letter to inform you of your general inferiority and lack of intellectual vitality, originality, and positive contribution to our egotistical and elitist community. We are sorry that you believed that you may have had a shot at getting accepted here, in addition to feeling sorry for your severe misconception of your own personal qualities, achievements, and potential for the future, which we believe will be exceptionally bleak and pitiful.

(Enter name of rejected student here), you are a fine student with substantial support from your teachers and advisors. We're lying to you right now, but if we do not include this falsely supportive information, there is a higher chance that you will slit your wrists/jump off your roof/drown yourself in your bathtub/hang yourself with your own shoelaces/participate in some other equally self-destructive behavior, and this increases our risk of getting sued.

We are confident that your undergraduate studies will be highly successful, just not at our school, because you're not of the same caliber as our high-achieving individuals. In all seriousness--we will be surprised if you get accepted to any college at all. In conclusion, we wish you luck with the rest of your life, even though we really don't give a ****.

(Enter lengthy and highly impersonal, ridiculously generic, pointless information so you can speculate as to your own personal worth, which, after reading this letter, is next to nothing.)

Sincerely,

The School of Your Dreams That is WAY Too Good For You, You Waste-of-Time Applicant

There was one I saw a few days ago that was like:

"Today, I got a likely letter of admission from Yale. When I told my parents, they told me that they never thought I was going to get into college and spent my college savings on a TV/car/pool. Now I can't go. fml."

do they really send out early rejection letters? ***?

Anybody know what time-ish we should get decisions?

edit - just kidding :] http://admission.stanford.edu/site/news/index.html#n16

From Stanford's March update:

[quote]
Students who do not receive their decision by email, may call the Office of Undergraduate Admission only after April 6 to get their decision over the phone. Decisions are only provided to students and not to parents or any other relatives.

^^Is it just me or is it funny that Stanford explicitly said that parents can't receive decisions over the phone?

There must be some REALLY concerned parents out there. (including my own... :( )

they are trying to get it out on the 27th, Its confirmed by admissions.
