Countdown to ED Notification

I hate snow when it seeps through your shoes and makes your toes numb

I hate rain too; and being wet if I'm not showering or swimming.

31 days....

Stop counting. It's really bad for your health.

i think its very healthy. it shows how obsessed we are....WHOO!!!! its like less than a month now! AHHHH...and DAMN UC BERKELEY WANTS THEIR APPS IN BY NOVEMBER 30 SO EARLY PEOPLE CANT JUST NOT APPLY! they want to suck my money away :-(

haha, yeah, i just noticed that some of the other colleges I'm applying to have been having deadlines come and go. Whoops! Oy vey...

haha yea....i really do not want to write these 3 essays for the UC schools. dammit! what kinda of state school has 3 essays?! bahhhh. i cant even use any of my princeton essays for them. anyone else applying to UC? i heard these essays are more for scholarship purposes and not for admission? is that tru? anyone know?

I haven't really looked at my apps that closely but I think I can do at least three of them without having to write anything new. I'm trying to do all of them online too but meh some of them have such restrictive fields like 3500 characters, not even words!

A lot of schools have priority deadlines but psshht I'm not following them.

hahahaha. i dont have any priority deadlines. UC is november 30. the next is yale at december 31...so i got some time. :-D

Essays do matter for UC schools. I live in California and I know from experience: UCs are not your typical state schools. Not only do UCSD, UCLA, and Berkeley provide world-class educations, but they definitely have very competitive admissions. Especially UCLA and Berkeley. I had friends from my high school (the top public high school in California) who didnt get into Berkeley with 1580, 750+ SAT IIs and 3.7 GPAs. So beware guys. Anyways, I've been lurking quite a bit on the board...I don't have the energy to keep up with all of your chatter, but if you have any questions about UCs or about me (Im ED to Princeton) feel free to ask.

hey john - i have a question: Why do people lurk? it always amazes me when months later people are like, "Hi, i've been following your discussions for weeks, but i just decided to join now." You're missing the fun, come on! :p

Seriously, it's all about the post count! lol not really but I've always been the participant and not the spectator in things. It's a little freaky though when you think there could be so many people watching us... looks around with paranoia

I WANT TO GO TO 300! ahh!

yeah, pretty freaky when you see a post with a 1000 views, and only 8 replies...glances around furtively... makes you wonder

the worst part about getting decisions is that people get them on diff days. NJ areas around Princeton get them within one day, NYC within 2, and the rest of the nation within 3 or 4. Even worse is that rejection/deferral cards aren't sent priority mail, so if you don't get anything the same time another applicant in your town gets in, chances are you've been deferred.

lol
I know, the princeton decisions seem pretty transparent. I told my parents not to even open the mailbox that week. It's going to be so sad though, opening a little envelope slowly...

and i want 500 - bet i'll beat you to it though shrek!

mzhang - what was your day like? the Big Day when you got the mail...Please describe it in vivid detail (even down to what the weather was like :p) for us hopefuls - just to make the whole thing more real =)

no i dont agree! i must get to my 300 NOW!

lol as a fellow post-grubber, I'll gladly help you keep the conversation going and get to your respective goals.
I don't think you threaten me quite yet :)

haha im nearing the 25% mark of zant's post
