Countdown to June 2010 SAT Scores/Results Thread

My predictions:
Math: 800 (hopefully, I didn’t mess up)
Reading: 790(800?) (-1 so far)
Writing: 750 (-2 assuming “intent about” is wrong and 10/11 essay)

@Ethereal

-1 on CR is always an 800.

Oh nice.
Unlike most of you, I’m most worried about the writing curve.

5 am est? So 2 am pst?

Ethereality - I’m just like you, my only worries are about the writing curve (well, excluding if I made a careless/bubbling error on math). I’ve looked up past curves, and -1 w/ 10 essay is sometimes an 800, -1 w/ 11 essay is always 800, and -2 w/ 12 essay and basically always 800 but not as often as the -1 w/ 11 is. And “intent about” was an error, what did you put for it? And I remember you disputing some of the CR answers if I’m not mistaken.

NewAccount - Don’t we all? :). But yes, I’m going for The Score if you will.

Oh and I’m at -1 on writing, so I’m really looking for that 11+ essay

Good luck to everyone waiting for scores =)!

And just an interesting note, I think that Harry Potter is the best SAT vocab resource ever (well not really, but close). I was reading the second one today, and in a span of 7 pages I saw the two words that gave me the most trouble on the two SAT’s I’ve taken: dregs and apoplectic. On the March SAT, I missed one vocab because I chose dregs instead of pantheon (didn’t know dregs meant a “lower” group while pantheon means “the best” group). Thankfully, I got apoplectic right without ever seeing it before.

I’m not hoping that my scores are going to be too high…will probably retake…but I’m curious to see how they’re gonna turn out :)

Silenceizsik - I put “intent about” was not an error, so that puts me at minus two. And yes I debated some CR questions, and it turns out the only one I got wrong is perhaps the easiest one; I put something about “miscalculations”… But anyway, you’re one step ahead of me with only one wrong on writing - Good luck!

^ Oh, that sucks! But we’re basically in the same situation still . I just wished I was at -0 so I could have an 800 with a 10. You hoping for a 12 is almost the same as me hoping for an 11, both are rare :)

Haha, I’m looking forward to hearing your scores when you get them.

Ah the anxiety is painful! But my biggest fear is of making an unanticipated error on math and opening my scores online and seeing a 770 or 780 for math… I’m pretty confident with CR, I’m at -1 and don’t expect any careless errors there. For some reason, I am convinced I got a 10 or worse essay. Idk why bc I last time I thought I had gotten an 8 or 9, like it was really bad, and miraculously ended up with an 11. So subjective. Only 100 hours left!!

^Even if it is a 770 or 780, that is still the top 99-98 percentile.

Yes but it’s not a 2400 :)

Personally I would rather NOT anticipate a 2400… that way if I didn’t get one I wouldn’t be disappointed  In fact, if somehow I did end up with one, I wouldn’t even know how to react…

^ Exactly what I said earlier, which is why I’m not anticipating one at all. I won’t deny that getting one was my goal going into the test, but I am anticipating at least -1 on math and a 10 or lower essay, which would leave me with a 770-790 W.

And yes, if I end up with one… I don’t think I’d be sane enough to post

Lol, neither would I :D

^ Haha do you still have a chance for one? And you’ve been off the threads for a few days, nice to see you back :)
