Guys, apparently the curve for this is really low…

So freaking scared to get results…best of luck guys… my stomach is in my mouth… im trying to get above 1900 at least, and 2000+ hopefully…

karatemanchan, how do you know?
you’re freaking me out!

Oh, God. I’m terrified! I really hope the curve isn’t low. This was my first time taking the SAT and I’m a rising Senior (not much time left). I felt like the writing and reading sections were easy but I did run out of time on some of the reading sections. I’m pretty sure I almost bombed the math section though. I just want to break 2000+, but no matter what I’m still going to be taking the October SAT.

Anyone know when scores come out Eastern Time?

Well, think about it: There was a thread here a while ago that asked for our reactions towards the test. Most of us said it was easy, which probably means that they had a high chance of getting the answer right.

Thus, with a higher percentage of people correctly answering the question, College Board would have to weigh that specific question lower, because there are more people who answered it correctly than the average study.

CC represents such a concentrated group of high-scores, I’d say that guessing the curve based on site-figured curves isn’t going to get you far.
Don’t worry.
You’ll still get into college.
I PROMISE.

7 hours…i iwsh i could just fall asleep right now and wake up to my scores tommorow morning but i wont cuz im not tired! cmon, i want to be tired!!

nayapapaya - Don’t tell that to me, I’m set and chill as a cucumber!

Little FYI: Most colleges don’t care about your writing score, only your CR+M score, so wishing for above a 1600 (factoring in 3 scores) is a pointless waste of your time.

(The writing score is primarily used for course placement.)

That is a COMPLETE myth. Go to any Ivy league school’s information session, and ask an admissions’ officer that question, and they will tell you that they treat all scores with equal weight.

i’m a harvard addmission officer and i can garauntee we don’t even look at your righting scores just ones critical reading and math.

Karatemanchan:

Your assumption is false. You assume that college confidential represents the entire population of SAT test takers. Not to sound pretentious, but the students on here represent a higher caliber of students, and a small percentage at that. And regardless, I hear that the curve is preset.

karate, i understand what you’re saying but i have to agree with nayapapaya. CC posters tend to be amazing test takers and applicants. I’ve followed other SAT threads and every month people tend to think they’ve done well. It’s amazing and intimidating.

Scores come out 5AM EST!

Oh…Well no more bad news!

LOL! Yeah-- you are a Harvard admission’s officer who misspells the word “writing.” rofl

Well, i hope so! None of my classmates took the reasoning in June so i can’t ask them how they felt (they’re smart, but not CC smart). I guess we’ll find out in 6 hours and 40 minutes…ahh!

I cried when I got a 2020 in May.
I figure things can basically only go uphill from THAT incident… my mom didn’t even hug me, she just laughed because I was being ridiculous. P:

Also-- a lot of kids on these forums are much smarter than the general population; however, a LOT of people here also elaborate their own statistics in order to feel smart . . no joke. Don’t believe anyone who posts on here about YOU-- because they all try to make themselves superior to you.

@I3auer Not everyone is a genius or has their rich parents’ donations to get them into to Ivy League schools, and the Ivy League does not represent “most” colleges as that was the term I used.
