Countdown to RD Decisions (Class of 2018)

It may be still good to have esther for checking any merit-scholarship.

On esther, do you guys have parent irs tax transcript complete march 18 for under the requirements?

Keep in mind that if you don’t apply for financial aid you won’t be eligible for any scholarships at all
(For any school, not just Rice)

For my Esther requirements list, everything seems to be received as per February 28th.

I disagree with your statement because I have heard otherwise most of the time. And by “scholarships,” I am guessing you mean merit-based or athletic based ones? Because “need-based scholarships” are only eligible for people that apply for financial aid. But everyone is still eligible for merit-based scholarships at schools that offer them, including Rice, no matter if you applied for financial aid or not.

@davelee1054 - That is NOT true. Please don’t mislead

@matrixsurgeon do you have the parents irs retrieval and tax form complete?

@omgitsvicki
“Parents IRS Retrieval and Tax Form”? No such thing is on my list. I simply have CSS Profile, FAFSA, W-2 Forms, Tax Schedule, Dependent Student Verification Worksheet, and Signed Copy of Tax Returns.

Good luck to all! Within the next few hours we should know our fates. I know we will all find success wherever we go, but I hope that Rice will become an option tonight!

@omgitsvicki
Thats what we have.
Parent IRS Data Retrieval or Parent IRS Tax Transcript Complete Mar 06, 2014

@davelee1054, you don’t need to fill out financial aid forms in order to be considered for merit-based scholarship.

So nobody has heard anything else, gotten an e-mail, called the office, etc. to confirm that it’s today? I really just don’t want to get my hopes up and then find out that it isn’t actually today (which happened with 2 schools already) :S

I’m still staying with my position on the fact that I don’t think that today is the day. Just a gut feeling.

@matrixsurgeon
I don’t see why it would be Monday-- it’s usually Friday so that admission counselors can go home to a nice weekend before dealing with the fallout from decisions.

@chickenfiesta
Still doesn’t explain why admission officers still (even now) say that it is on or just before April 1st. Logic would state that this close to releasing decisions, the officers would mention that it is today or atleast “soon.”

I think it is sometime next week.

Last year it was March 26th Tuesday, so why we think its today ?? May be Next week …

PS: Edited its March 22nd. So today is the Day.

It’s most likely March 25th then.

@dadfor2014
Where did you hear that last year it was on a tuesday? Everywhere I have seen people have said it was March 22nd, Friday was when decisions came out at 6pm EST.

Last year, email decisions were released on March 22nd.

Last year was not March 28th, it was March 22nd last year… and March 23rd the year before that…

^^ Sorry my Fault I read the wrong thread, Yes it was indeed March 22.
