It wasn’t really unfair, at least not for me. The issue is that it is another one of those college board questions that has tons of bias. It would be a lie to say that those very familiar with reality television were not at an advantage. Those poor (lucky) souls completely unfamiliar with jersey shore and the reality television genre would be forced to struggle much harder for examples and in turn probably write a much less authentic essay.

the curve listed above is inaccurate. the CR is NEVER that harsh. Look at any curve history. The CR 90% of the time has been 800 for a -2 and only a 790 twice. On the other hand the writing curve is a bit too generous. Math is accurate.

actually, the question asked specifically for reality TV, not general entertainment.
I don’t know what the prompt was, I didn’t read it.

On a scale of 0 to 10, with 5 being the average test, I thought Math was an 8, CR was a 3, and Writing was a 6. Using http://www.erikthered.com/tutor/SAT-Released-Test-Curves.pdf, I’d estimate the curves to be Math was 03/05, CR was 01/08, and Writing was 10/08. In other words, I believe the curves will be:

Math: 800, 790, 760, 740, 720, 710, 700, 690, 680, 670, 660
CR : 800, 800, 800, 780, 760, 750, 730, 720, 710, 700, 690
W : 800(800), 79(800), 760(790), 730(770), 710(760), 690(740), 680(730)

Writing is shown with the score+12 essay in parentheses.
I think I was -4 raw in math (720), -7 raw in CR (720), and -5 raw in Writing with a 12 essay (740). My final prediction is a 2180.

I wanted an 800 in Math…of course I somehow manage to screw up 4 freakin raw points and fall victem to the fawked up curve.

9 days everyone, i thought that -2 on the math put you at a 740 usually. According to these predicted curves -2 will be a 760. I thought math was easy tbh. Right now from looking at the threads i only got 1 grid in wrong and omitted one. I would love a 760. Critical reading i think i got a 660. And writing i would say i got a 600. So i predict a 2020. I’m hoping for a 2050 plus though

I think math was pretty easy. No really hard q’s. CR wasn’t bad either, but I thought the writing was harder than usual. My guess is the writing curve is easier than usual (though probably not as easy as I posted earlier).

8 days!!!

Both excited and scared at the same time.
I hope this doesn’t end up like my PSAT where I overestimated by score by about 20 points, then again I know what answers I got wrong, sigh.

@ heyjjjaded I know what you mean!!! I overestimated my self for PSATS!! I don’t want to think I did too good just in case, but I didn’t find it THAT hard!

^ Same, same haha. Oh well, they say people generally do a lot better on their SATs than PSATs! Plus, we can always take it again if that’s not the case :)

im already scheduled to retake it. after a certain number ur sections i was just like “can this please be over?”

167.5 hours, or slightly under one week.
Unless it doesn’t release on EDT.

You’re making me anxious.

STAWP IT.

6 days >_<

131 HOURS

10char

112.5 hours

400,000 seconds

A little less stressful than one of those ivy countdown threads, I’d say.

5 more days. I really wish I could just check it now and get it over with, hah! : )

What time are the scores usually released? I wish they’d just immediately give us the CR & Math scores, so we won’t have to be so anxious…lol.
