Are you really going to post a countdown every day in this thread? Seems a bit obsessive to me. And in a previous post, you said you were “nervously fidgeting” about your admissions decision.

Just chill out, your stats seems fine, you really don’t have much to freak out over. I had lower stats than you and was pretty much expecting not to get in, but I’m here now…

“Summer B is no different from fall in terms of competition, as all freshman applicants are evaluated as a class. There is no distinction between terms, so there is no admission advantage or disadvantage to choosing summer or fall entry.”

And, at this point its not really as nerve-wracking as boring. I just want something to happen… :)

UF is my top choice. If I get in, my tuition deposit is being sent ASAP. Until then, I have to occupy myself with a 5 minute countdown everyday haha

Ha, it’s so much better to forget about UF completely (well, do your housing stuff first if you need to!) and then be surprised when you get a “Greetings from the University of Florida” email on Jan. 30th with the status-checking instructions. Then you only have to freak out for 2 weeks as opposed to like 3 months.

A few ideas to make the time go faster: Work really hard at keeping your HS grades up. Even if you are accepted UF still has the right to revoke the acceptance if your GPA takes a dive or if a serious disciplinary problem pops up. Volunteer what spare time you can with a local charity or fundraise for that charity. You’ll help your community, feel great about the effort and time time will pass quickly. Work on finding a part time job. After HS swim season was over last year my son took a week long lifeguard training course in December and was able to land a job that paid for his first year UF dorm cost. He is still working part time on campus as a lifeguard. Pay attention to the other schools you have applied to. A large portion of UF applicants will not gain acceptance. Be ready to go on to another college or university by researching their web sites and learning what you can about their campus life, course catalogs and deadlines. Above all stay positive. Whether you end up at UF or another university this is a very exciting time in your life. Prepare yourself to succeed where ever you go. Good Luck!

Yah, I wonder what kind of “dive” would make a school (UF) or whatever rescind their offer - anyone have any idea. Would it be more than going from lets say a 3.7 to a 3.5 ?

UF’s admission office spells out requirements (see below address) but doesn’t actually say what specific “low point” would trigger rescinding admission. It’s still a good idea not to let "senioritis"take over. It will make those AP tests easier in May, give you a head start on your freshman year and make the time go faster.
