25 days guys.

I don't know about you all, but I'm really nervous.

Am I alone?

I’m somewhat nervous…U of I is my top choice, and unless I’m mistaken, Purdue decisions come out the same day.

Yes. You’re alone. :)

I’m nervous, especially being a below average stats and out of state… Although my application should have met priority date I’m unsure if it has, applicaton type still say regular admission, but its only been less than a week since everything was uploaded. For some reason it says it recieved my fee waiver Nov 13th and everything else before Nov, Im sure my counselor sent waiver with everthing else…

I’m in the same boat, coolbreeze, except for the fact that all of my documents show up as having been received on November 1st or earlier, so I’m just going to assume that I’m fine for now.

25 days to Dec. 11th, but I don’t believe all decisions will come out at same day.

And even if they do, there’s a chance we’ll be deferred and have to wait a few more months… :(

Not nervous here.

It’s a reach for DS. We’re OOS + he has a rather low SAT math for Engr, but great CR and W. And he wants to do the international minor (in Engr) which matches well with the years we spent overseas. But still - a long shot.

If he gets in - then great, we’ll take a hard look at it. If not, no tears.

How often do students get deferred at Illinois?

24 days

596 hours

35760 minutes

2145650 seconds

Cool, it happened to a lot of people last year if you look back at the thread they made around decision time. I have the feeling it’s relatively common.

I’m excited, not nervous. After I hear from Illinois I will be able to start my own deliberation period on deciding which university to attend. I just think it will be really exciting to decide on a college for sure.

If no accepted decision? What else? deferred? rejected? At Dec. 11th?

If the Application Status remains at Complete, Ready for Review the decison could be:
Deferred Until Final Review: A final decision will be made on February 19, 2010.

Once the Application Status changes to Decision Made, the following are the possible decisons:

Admit: Applicant admitted.
Admit - Alternative Choice: Applicant admitted to an alternate program.
Admit - College Reviewed: Applicant admitted through college review.
Applicant Accepts Offer: Applicant admitted and accepts offer.
Applicant Agrees to Wait List: Applicant agrees to wait list offer.
Applicant Declines Wait List: Applicant declines wait list offer.
Applicant Rejects Offer: Applicant admitted but declined offer.
Deny - Incomplete - Program Clsd: Application was incomplete when program closed.
Deny - Reviewed: Applicant not admitted.
Deny - Failed Special Requirement: Applicant not admitted due to failing special requirement.
Deny - Lower Division Denial: Applicant did not meet lower division transfer admission requirements.
Deny - Trans Courses/Hrs Not Met: Applicant did not meet course prerequisites.
Offered Wait List: Applicant placed on Wait List.
Petition Denied: Appeal was rejected.
Program Closed: Program not open at the level to which applicant applied.

Obviously, some decisions can only appear later in the admissions cycle after the applicant takes an action like accepting, rejecting, or agrees to waitlist, but this list is from the UofI Application Status Help page.

After Dec. 11th, suppose that if they make a decision, it should come out immediately?
How about new SAT score come in before they make decision?

Finally, I’ve been updated to “Priority Admission.” I guess now I can sit back and stop checking that damn application status for a couple weeks.

Tmac18: When did you submit all of your documents?

Tony:

App Fee - Oct 27
Essay #1 - Oct 28
Essay #2 - Oct 28
HS Transcripts 1 Official - Nov 01
ACT/SAT Test Scores-UIUC - Apr 22
ACT/SAT Writing Score-UIUC - Apr 22

At least, November 1st is the day they listed as receiving my transcript. It was sent in a week or so before.

Tmac18: You didn’t take OCT SAT, why not submit appliation … early? I submitted application on OCT 27, sent out all documents before Nov. 1st, but status doesn’t change since Nov. 2nd.

U of I is not my dream school but one of my top choices.
I am not nervous cuz I am not expecting so much to be accepted due to my below average stats.
