Anyone know what an acceptance letter looks like (as opposed to a rejection letter)? Does anyone know the date that we can expect to find a letter in our mailbox? Some of my friends will receive notices from their schools as early as 3/15!

You or other people already asked these questions (and were answered) in the thread below -

whoaa when do we hear???

Ummm… when I received my admissions package, it was dated the 19th, so you should be receiving it anyday now, definitely by the end of this week. Accepted kids will get a large white envelope with a sticker in front with your address, and a folder inside with an acceptance letter, a certificate, and a few sheets of information.

^

I’m in MD, still nothing yet :(

Well, I live in Virginia and was notified today!!! Im in!!! Best of luck to all of you :-)

And my packet came in a priority mail envelope from the United States Postal Service. The packet for admitted students is the best I have gotten thus far and I have been admitted to several good schools; Tulane, Furman, and Sewanee. Inside the package is a really nice folder with info about admitted student days, scholarships, deposit due dates, and enrollment.

What’s the postmark jlb? CONGRATS!

As per the blog, the MAJORITY of decisions were sent yesterday. So, some of us might not get it until later…

daughter received small envelope…so I assume bad news.

My D was waitlisted. She doesn’t understand. Top 2% in IB program, 200 plus community service hours, varsity letter, AP scholar, good test scores…what do they want? She is wondering why she has worked so hard.

Daughter was waitlisted too. Please let your daughter know she’s not wasted her hard work. Most schools have had record applications. I hope she receives many acceptances from other great schools.

When one door closes, another opens. Keep that in mind. :-)

Congratulations to those who were offered admission and I’m sorry to those who are on the disappointed side. Many wonderful students were wait-listed. There were almost 7900 applications for about 800 spaces. I hope your daughter can come to realize that her hard work was not wasted–she gets to keep everything she learned in those hard classes and through her experiences. She didn’t do those things just to get into UR. But I know how hard it is in the moment. Hang in there and let me know when I can answer questions. . . I’ll try to check in here most days.

anxiousvamom I don’t know your daughters stats but I just barely made the top 10% of my class and not only got in but was a semifinalist for the boatright scholarship. I’m sure your daughter will get in.

^^ So, does this mean that if we had not gotten a letter at this point (I live in Florida) that we have either been wait-listed or rejected?
