Hey guys. At this point I am really thinking about dropping out of my 4 year university and going to a community college. My overall gpa rn is 2.283. This semester I’m doing pretty decent. Will pass most of my classes with a little bit of work. However calc 2 is killing me. I need to do really well on the 3rd and final exam. I’m also on academic probation meaning I can’t even drop calc 2 if i wanted to. I’m just confused on whether or not I should transfer. Thanks for your help.
What is required to get off of academic probation? Will you be asked to leave if you can’t pull your GPA up? If so, then your community college is likely to be your only options.
What have you done about that calculus class? Are you haunting your professor’s office hours? Are you working with a tutor from the math tutoring center?
You also need to take a good look at why you’ve been doing so poorly in university. Is it studying habits? Poor major choice? Mental health issues? You need to identify the problem, and make sure it doesn’t follow you any further in your academic career. There is ultimately no point in attending community college if you end up in the same situation you’re in now.
Best of luck!
