Couple Financial Aid Questions

I have a couple questions on financial aid. I was accepted in the EA round.

  1. I've sent my parents' tax returns to the processing center, my CSS Profile, and my FASFA. Is that all I need to submit for now?
  2. Does anyone know when I'll hear back from Tulane about my financial aid package?

  2. Should be within the next 2 weeks. Could even be this week still. But generally in the past they have gone out between the 15th and the 25th of March.

DD who was an EA admit, got her financial aid award today, March 11. May be early for her since she is a DHS recipient and, not surprisingly, no additional aid. (Nor was any expected with the DHS).

We heard back from Tulane today and the aid package offered was pathetic compared to the EFC calculated by FAFSA. Very disappointing as we thought this school had generous aid packages.

I just got an email letting me know that my daughter’s financial aid package was available on Gibson. We actually had checked a bit earlier today and saw it. If yours isn’t there yet - it certainly will be soon.

DD was early admit - but not DHS (sadly). I don’t have anything with which to compare the Tulane package - but since it did offer additional scholarship dollars in combination with loans and work study, I feel it was generous. Now to crunch numbers and do some research…

Okay, I guess they’re probably just waiting for my parents tax forms to reach them. We completely forgot to put my student ID on them (we only put my name and date of birth), so it could take a while…

Also, I just checked Gibson and saw that the only aid that I’ve been awarded so far was the $32,000 per year Presidential Scholarship. I’m guessing the need based aid comes later.

Gibson is only showing my Academic Achievement scholarship and I’m slightly panicking. Am I not receiving any financial aid or is it just not up yet? It says they have my FAFSA, while my CSS is listed as “Established and Requested” under Unsatisfied Requirements. The College Board website says they sent the CSS. Hashtag ugh

I think it is worth a phone call to make sure they have everything, but I don’t think the lack of other info on Gibson besides your merit scholarship means anything. It could just be they are still entering data. I definitely encourage a call.

It’s been two weeks and I still don’t have an award. Everyone else from my area that applied EA and has been accepted has their award. I’m getting really frustrated with their office right now…

They only sent in their FASFA and CSS profile too. Why exactly am I being forced to jump through all these hoops again?
