1) Does MIT care if your school doesnt use MIT's sec school report form?

2) If I submitted ACT scores but did not fill in the scores for the writing section, will they still take my writing score once they get the record?

1) I'd like to know too... I tried to give the forms (just MIT's and Caltech's!) to the guidance secretary (who handles all college stuff) and she laughed condescendingly, saying that my guidance counselor was far too busy to fill out things like that. In light of the work involved in writing a recommendation, this seems pretty weird...

I was under the impression that it was the GC's job to do stuff such as fill out a midyear report. Anyway, don't be too pushy, but try going back and asking again, explaining how munch of an integral part of your application the midyear report is. (Even if it isn't, I have no idea...)

Call MIT admissions and ask if your guidance secretary can fill the forms out instead of the counselor. She actually sounds like the one who should, reagardless of title, as she's dealing with all the college stuff.

Oh, Slak, though I'm not sure how MIT considers your ACT writing score, they will get it on the offical score report so it doesn't matter if you filled it in or not.

I think it's actually all set... my guidance counselor wrote me a recommendation and sent that and a transcript to colleges. She'll hopefully also be sending my midterm grades. It's just that the school has a policy against filling out forms for specific colleges--they will send something roughly equivalent. But thank you!!
