I'm moving into Tower 1 this weekend and I was wondering 2 things.

What day is the best to move in? Friday, Saturday, or Sunday? By best I mean least amount of people trying to do the same thing.

and

Does each person get their own mailbox? And can UPS/FedEx deliver to them? I wanted to order some software from Amazon, but it's not going to get to my house before I leave. On MyUCF there is a PO box listed so is that my personal mailbox?

I can’t comment on when the best day to move in, I think any of those days you will find plenty of people moving in.

As far as mail, each person gets their own mailbox. The exact P.O. Box you see listed in myucf is your mailing address, for letters or small items that can fit in a P.O. Box.

For large packages or if you have to ship something that requires a “physical” address and not a P.O. Box Number:
I have ordered items for my D from Amazon and other stores (Christmas tree, pots and pans, dishes, etc. - things too big to fit in a P.O. Box), the correct address would be:

Student Name (your name)
__________ * Mail Center (if you are in Towers, you put “West Plaza” Mail Center
4000 Central Florida Blvd
Orlando, FL 32816-3222

Fed Ex, Ups or DHL/Airborne Deliveries
When a package is received from any of these carriers the student will be notified, via a slip in their mail box. The student will then go to his/her community mail room for package pick up. The student must produce a valid ID and sign for the package, prior to receiving it.

As far as move in days. If you want less hassle in terms of parking, using the elevators, etc, consider very late afternoon to early evening. First year S was in Towers we were there bright and early, and we did okay finding a parking spot in the Towers garage, but we live local, so we were early. It got crazy pretty quick in waiting for elevators. We carried last few loads up stairs instead of waiting. Second year, as he moved to a different Tower and had to move out and move back in, we came late in the day, early evening… and just sailed thru things. Might consider that. :)

Keep in mind that late Sunday there will be a Towers resident meeting, assuming they do as done before, and they will tell residents that they need to move their cars out of the Towers parking garage where residents have purchased permits with assigned parking as they will begin towing and ticketing on Monday. So pay attention where you park your car. Should be able to pull it up to the front of the buildings, there are a few spots there for unloading purposes. Good luck!

Yeah, I bought a parking pass for my car so I’ll try to park in my spot, if no one is there just so it’s easier for me LOL.

Another question, there’s like 8 numbers on my pass, how can I tell my spot number? I went into the garage when I picked up my pass and got out to look at someone else’s and note the spot they were in and it seemed to be the last 4 digits, can anyone confirm this?
