Couple of Questions

How many students actually live on campus, and is housing guaranteed for 4 years?

What are the general stats required to get into the honors college?

Housing guarantee:
[George Mason University - Office of Housing & Residence Life](http://housing.gmu.edu/general/faq/read.asp?fID=45)

I just read somewhere that 8,000 students live on campus. Here’s a 2011 article from GMU that says ~6,000:
[It?s Official: Mason Is a Residential University – University News - George Mason University](<a href=“The George | George Mason University”>The George | George Mason University)

Honors College stats. I can’t recall seeing anything official in print. We were told at the info session that it’s something like 30 ACT, AP-type classes, leadership qualities, etc. Maybe someone else can give a more specific answer.

However, I believe they look at a student more holistically than that, as my D’s stats were lower. She wrote a strong essay, she apparently has a bit of a unique “hook” (so we’re beginning to see), and we showed that hook in a very positive light.

A couple of things to remember about Honors College: You need to apply EA. If you don’t get in, you can appeal. You can find the appeal form online, and you’ll need to answer a few questions about why you should be reconsidered and why you believe you are a good fit.

Good luck!

Spritle, I just looked at some of your earlier posts. We may live in the same part of the state, and my D also applied to at least one of the other schools your S’s considered. You are welcome to PM me to discuss a bit more. :)
