Couple of Questions:

Hello everyone, I would appreciate it if anyone can answer a few questions for me:

Do you NEED the exact scores or higher to receive the presidential scholarship (I have a 32 composite ACT score, and it says you need a 33)

I read that something requires a 95 unweighted average... I have that this year, but my freshman year I kind of messed up a bit. My overall average so far is a 93, but ever since freshman year my grades have only gone up. Weighted this year I have a 99 so far.

How willing are they to accept AP's?

Is their engineering program the best of the SUNY's?

J. F. … Is that you???

Don’t know about the scholarship as my son rec’d $3k/year (which may go up for more recent applicants as tuition increases??) though he did not apply for any specific merit aid. His stats were 31 ACT and 3.84 at the time of applying (GPA through Jr year.)

AP’s- very accepting and give out plenty of credits. (7 AP’s and 1 college course yielded 45 credits for son. Other son at great private school got 45 credits for the 13 AP’s and one college course.) UB gives out more credits for the science courses it seems.

Engineering- Some will regard Stony Brook as best for any sciences. In the USNWR ranking I think UB is as well ranked. It is much better than Binghamton. Son was admitted and loved the school but engineering/math is not up to par with the other majors at Bing.

Those AP credits will get you a higher housing lottery number and higher registration for classes in the future.

FYI- Son was accepted to all 15 schools he applied to… SUNY’s, OOS publics, and privates and was most impressed with UB’s engineering program and has absolutely no regrets.

Feel free to PM me. I can link you up with my son.
If you are JF- tell mom hi for me. How did you like you visit?

I believe so. Call Honors and ask though. You still have time to take it again before applying.

Probably the same answer as #1, your best bet is to call though.

[UB Transfer and Articulation Services: Advanced Placement Exam (AP)](http://tas.buffalo.edu/altexam/apchart.php)

4 or 5 gets you course credit, 3 gets you elective credit.

I would say it is, although I may be a bit biased. It was the only SUNY school I looked at for engineering (only one to offer aerospace).
