As most people in this forum, I’m applying to transfer to a 4- year from a ccc. Ultimately, I wanna get into UCSD for computer science. However, I have an option to TAG into one of the UC’s. I wanted to TAG into UC Davis rather than UCI because my ccc offers most of the courses required to graduate while UCI requires 9 extra courses that my ccc doesn’t have (meaning I have to stay another year or so). Also, it’s much closer to home.
My question is, will my TAG, or application in general, be disregarded because I chose the java route instead of c++? UC Davis accepts Java or C++ for the first two semesters, however for the third semester(data structures) they require it to be C++.
Also, I’m trying to complete as many of my G.E. requirements as I can in order to finish up igetc. I believe that I’ll be missing two courses, either 1 humanities and 1 social science, or 2 social sciences depending on which classes I decide to take. I’m aware that I could get partial igetc, but will UCSD and UC Davis accept that? Will they allow me to finish up during the summer of 2017 at my ccc?
