couple questions

i was accepted into sixth college for the upcoming fall. i have a few questions.

i applied for a double in the res hall, but since like 95 percent is triple so i’m prob going to end up in one of those. does anyone have pictures of a triple room from sixth? because all i the ones i found online are of doubles. the double rooms seem like they have a good amount of space but when you add in that additional person things are a little bit different. also what exactly is provided for us in the dorms because i’m not exactly sure of what to get storage wise (like drawers and such). is there a closet for everyone to share or like one for everyone?

how hard is it to transfer from one uc to another? i really want to transfer to UCLA and i’ve heard both that it’s like impossible to transfer and that it’s easier to transfer (like if you were to transfer from a jc)

and then if you have any suggestions for dorm must haves, that would be greatly appreciated :)

i did a lot of theater work back in highschool. i’m a techie, not an actor. i did a lot of lighting for the school plays and productions. anyone know about the theater department here? and i just kinda got into film production too. any info on that would be wonderful.

My friend that is going to be a junior this coming up quarter from UCSD applied to Berkeley and UCLA as a transfer ... got into both and got a 10,000 scholarship from UCLA. His GPA is pretty high though, but not a perfect 4.0.

Search the discussions somewhere around on this site ... I found a list that was alphabetized on things you should bring to your dorm, or consider bringing

go to: UC San Diego Housing

i did go to the housing site but i was looking at pictures of some of the dorms and didn't see all of it. is there like a built into the wall closet and then we gte another dresser?

maybe try here: UC San Diego Housing Rates and Services

how much use is it to get a laptop lock?

It's generally pretty difficult to transfer from one UC to another, but it does happen all the time...As far as theater is concerned UCSD has a better theater department than UCLA (at least by rankings). Last rankings I saw had Yale #1, NYU #2, and UCSD #3.

wow i didn't know that about the ranking. it seems weird that SD would be better than LA since SD is so science and all. thanks!

The La Jolla playhouse(partner of UCSD) is quite popular nationally I believe.

does anyone know whether we have to be in the theater classes to to work on the productions or can just be a voluntary after class thing, like i did at my high school.

you can take classes or participate in student orgs for theater productions

those theater rankings (like almost all other rankings) are graduate school rankings...

You are correct with those being graduate rankings, but from what I've seen the theater department is more tight knit than a lot of others...hence I think there is a good correlation between the graduate ranks and undergrad experience. There are always tons of shows going on and you don't have to be a theater major to be in or work on them.

thanks for all the theater info! if theres more then keep it coming.

now i have a question about enrolling for classes.
i'm so clueless.
i'm looking at my degree audit because i have 44 transfer credits and it's nice that they let you know which classes you can take to fulfill the credits except the fact that i can't make sense of half of the class subject abbreviations.
help!
