Bump Bump Bump

I believe biz econ at uci is impacted major but a decent gpa of atleast 3.4-3.4 and tag and you should fine just remember the higher the gps the better.

I've heard it's a commuter school also had a friend that left uci due to no accounting major and said you need a car. But I also have a lot of friends that love uci.

As for grants I'm sure there is.

my boyfriend is actually a biz econ major at UCI; however, he went straight from highschool so can't help you out much on that. he is whatevers on the major and the school though.

i have alot of friends that do attend UCI and they are so/so on it. alotta them do plan on transferring out to either LA or USC.

they do have a new biz program coming in tho.. i believe fall 09? not quite sure.

Was accepted last year for bizecon at UCI; first year the program was accepting applicants. My stats; 3.85gpa, TAP, ecs/work experience, essays focused on career/professional development, missing 2-3 prereqs

I'd say its just as difficult to get into UCI as UCSB.

As far as aid packages go; UCI offered the least of all the schools i applied to. I think it was close to 2k less than all other schools(after accounting for tuition/books).... Rent is just as expensive in Irvine/newport as it is nearby all other major UCs

I grew up in OC; probably why i wanted to experience college elsewhere. But the campus is typical oc suburb. everything closes at 10pm. and you'd have to head down to laguna hills/newport to get some partying in. I'd say its more of a commuter school.

^ yeah they have a business admin program which will open in 2010 for transfers and it will be impacted around 150 spots in program thats it. My friend that was at UCI left because she couldn't get into that program.

thanks for the responses...
so its not that easy to get grants?

Grants depend on A) household income B) how creative you are at filing taxes

Most UCs provide 100% aid through the form of grants/scholarships/loans. For some it will be mostly loans. My recommendation is to apply to private universities with large endowment funds and see if you qualify for more aid than you would at a UC.

If you're considering business econ to go into business.... then I think you should reconsider the school that you go to.... prestige matters in the business world.
