Course 6-9 (Computation and Cognition) vs Course 9 (Brain and Cognitive Sciences)?

I’m interested in neuroscience and was wondering what the difference between these two programs at MIT were? I’m actually also interested in neuro-oncology – would Biology be the best major for this? Thanks!

I’m not an MIT student, but to me, 9 looks closer to your interests. 6-9 would give you a foundation in computational work though, which could be helpful if you go further into neuroscience. However, I agree with you that Biology (Course 7) would be more helpful. Have you considered the 7+9 double major? I’ve heard of more than a few people doing that; it’s one of the more achievable double major combinations. Of course, I’d focus on getting in first though.
