Hi

CommonApp is asking me for course credit value. I come from Europe and do IB, have 6 subjects (6 courses I think). Do you know what should I put as my course credit value? I can't leave it blank

Thanks

Anyone knows the answer?

Most people in your situation put 1.0 or 0.5 per class. It doesn’t really matter, colleges will be familiar with your system and they understand the course value can’t be left blank. In the US, students with a class that lasts a full school year use 1.0 and a class that lasts a semester use 0.5.

Thanks ;)

If I have the same course for two years? I mean I do Maths HL for years, English SL for two years and so on. Should I put 2?

Really, it doesn’t much matter in your situation. Course credit value should really be optional within the form so you could leave it blank.

But, if you want specific advice, even for a 2 year class I’d suggest using 1.0 per class. A higher value will catch at adcom’s eye as being unusual.
