i can't seem to see the "course evaluations" or teacher evaluations on albert because i need to be enrolled in stern classes. can someone PM me their log in =

OR

do you have any recommendations for teachers in the following courses or course recs for world cultures/conversations of the west:

kurnow is very popular, see if u can get him. i had giloni, good prof.

i had choi for fa(he used to be the dean of the undergraduate school)- i've heard all of them are good...don't know about carrizosa(new- i think)
im taking greenleaf for marketing next term 8'o clock class(he better be good)

Kurnow is popular for stats mostly because he's easy - he's incredibly old and tends to go off on tangents and ramble. This is, I think, one class where the Stern curve can get annoying because the grading is so easy...

Hipscher and Choi are best for accounting.

I took World Cultures: Israel and enjoyed that. If you can find Conwest: Antiquity to Modernity, definitely take that. Or if you just find a Conwest with Prof. Connolly.

Stats - I had Liang, he was ridiculously easy and then gave an insane final exam. There were many casualties. Take Kurnow for the easy grade if you can.

FA - I'd second youkosiren on Hipscher/Choi, although since I also had Choi there's something that needs to be said about him. Great guy, very effective teacher, but his FA class is undoubtedly harder than some of the other professors (you learn more material, his test protocol is a little harder in that you don't get to take notes in with you). That said, it's worth it as you really have a firm grasp on the thing when you're done.

Marketing - Taking Greenleaf next term myself, I think 11AM.

WC / Conwest: I took Antiquity/Renaissance with Gilman, ehh, if the TAs like your writing style you're set, if not it's not particularly fun. Exams were easy though.

EDIT: WC China apparently still exists, although Guthrie has said he's done with it. Interesting. If Guthrie still teaches it, it's Stern curved but it's like WC for Sternies (it's more about modern China politics/economics than ancient history)

Stats 6 cred vs 4/2: 99% of people do the 6 credit that I've spoken to. Just take the extra pain in freshman year and get it over with.

ronp: your Conwest class varies with your prof, some assign tons of papers, some assign very few. Reading, if you actually do all the work you're assigned, yes it's a lot of reading.

Depends on the teacher you get. I liked the Stern WTE better, but that was because my TA was awesome and pretty much let me write whatever I wanted. I knew people who hated the Stern one way more than regular WTE though, so... yeah.

be careful of kurnow, the course evaluations are filled out prior to people seeing the final/getting their final grades. I had a 100 average in his class when we filled out the evaluations, so I gave him amazing feedback. After the final (don't know what I got) I ended up with a B in the class. On top of this, you seriously learn NOTHING in his class (its all open book tests, so you don't learn it/he goes off on tangents about the 1920's [hes 95]) Although
you'll probably never use stats again anyways...

hey ron, kinda late reply, but i don't have a teach assigned to my stats class. im taking the 4credit/2credit stat option because i don't want to take 18 credits my first semester at a new school/new environment/new people...you'd end up taking 18 credits one semester regardless of which stats you take so i just chose the 4/2 option

can anyone comment on Klein for FA? i'm currently registered for the 4cr stats course (professor not listed) and FA making 20 credits. i'm trying to decide which class to drop.

edit: also taking world cultures: china with zhang..i was into ancient israel initially but i've read some poor reviews for that prof. is this class for stern students only?
