i am a transfer student and im beginning at UF during summer a. ok they won't let me register until i go to transfer preview but when i was looking at the course listings all the classes that i wanted to take are full (no more seats). I read that they save seats in critical courses but i don't know if thats only for incoming freshmen or for everyone?

Honestly, it's a lie. When I transferred, I had my entire schedule set out because I was 110% sure that they saved spots for transfer students. ...Only to have my advisor tell me that that wasn't true.
Which classes are/were you trying to get into by the way? You might have to wait until add/drop to get into the ones you want, or you could always send an email to a professor or go see him/her to ask if you can get in (explain you're a transfer, etc) Maybe they'll be nice? Good luck! :)

People usually hold a bunch of courses until drop add. I can guarantee critical classes will open up, but you need to "camp" them a bit on ISIS.

thanks you guys. i had a feeling it wasn't true. The only class I want to take for sure is sta3024. my friend told me that people will probably drop some of their classes but i have to check constantly.

Is this different for transfers than for incoming freshmen? I was assured by students who as incoming freshmen had late preview sessions that spots in the courses were held.

Spots are held for each preview spot for freshmen, yes.
