Course load & prereqs

I haven't completed my math or foreign language prereqs, but will have them completed by the end of this semester. I am also 22 credits away from the 60 necessary, but enrolled in 25 for this semester. I completed 20 with a 4.0 last semester. My essays were killer and my ECs are pretty good. I also have a lot of work experience as well. How worried should I be about my application?

your major?

Sociology. I have completed all of the pre-requisites for the major, which aren’t required for admission anyways. Some of the schools–like UC Santa Cruz–don’t have any corresponding classes for that major at my college. What I’m concerned about are the general ed requirements (I’ve finished almost everything, aside from the foreign language and Statistics, which are in progress) and how my course load might appear to the school.

wow super gunner. I doubt sociology is a universal impacted major so you should be fine as long as you listed all your classes on your TAU.

Don’t be surprised if a UC sends you a letter pending grade reports from the spring.

Keep enrolled in all your classes, pass, and you should be fine. I’m having the same issue with UCSC though. Its my first choice, but MOST of the major prep isn’t articulated at my CCC…wonder how that is going to work with my application. Supposedly UC’s don’t hold it against you if your college doesn’t offer the courses, but I still worry…At least I had some chem/bio from my other University!

What’s your GPA and what schools did you apply to?
It sort of depends.

I applied to UCI, UCSB, and UCR. I applied to UC Merced, but I’d rather go to CSUF than UCM. My GPA is a 3.4 currently.
