Is a 14 credit hour course load for first semester (including 1 for PE) a little low? (considering I have 'bout 20 + hours of incoming credit already for completing a 130 H ish college major?); I am not doing this by choice, it's just that attending a college with a huge student body has limited the variety of courses I can sign up for the first semester...

Along this line, do med schools really know what one has taken each semester or do they just get a list of all courses and grades? My son is soph. and is having problem getting more than 13 hrs.---has not been able to get in any W/L class. He has physics, orgo, english and a health, but was unable to get a foreign lang, a bio or any other elective to meet grad. requirements.

The transcript they receive will have the credit hours for each course. I think 13 academic credits + 1 PE is fine for freshman year although it will be low for future years.

Yes, AMCAS includes units and grades broken down by semester.
