I would be very careful about planning everything out like that…it looks fine, but you need to have several backup options. Especially with the way classes are at the moment for most schools, you could very well have a semester where you get none (or very few) of the classes you planned for.

Thanks @HisGraceFillsMe

However,

I work for the Educational Opportunity Center, so I’m able to register for classes on priority registration days even without 40+ Cr. Hrs.

Thanks for your feedback.

The summer classes at my school are longer and meet more often than normal classes. I don’t think taking 4 classes during the summer might be possible. I would check into that.

@fluteloop

I’ll look into that!

My summer classes were longer and met more often, but they only lasted one or two months each. (Note: summers here are 4 months, like a regular semester.) 5 or even 6 classes are doable, if you thrive under those conditions. :)

…but they’re probably awful if you don’t. :p

That summer schedule is really heavy. At my school, the summer calc class is five times a week for 4 hours each day. Taking other classes alongside that would be difficult. My suggestion would be to push either calc into the fall or if you can’t do that since you need to get started on the physics, push those other classes into the fall.

Also, who is to say that any of those classes won’t be canceled?

I’d like to make 3 suggestions:

Consider not overloading your summer and taking a full course load in the following fall and spring instead. You won’t get full financial aid as a part-time student. (Though I do understand the necessity of taking Calc 1 in the summer.)

Take a programming class and maybe linear algebra too. They’ll make your life MUCH easier later. (I don’t know which university you are hoping to transfer to, but aerospace engineering at the Florida Institute of Technology recommends C++ or Fortran programming. Java is relatively similar to C++ in case your community college doesn’t offer the previous two programming languages.)

Are you sure that College Algebra (a.k.a. high school algebra) is a good first math course for you? It’s rather rare that prospective engineers begin college with remedial math.

b@r!um

1.Thanks for letting me know about the requirement of 12 Cr. Hrs. for full financial aid. I changed the arrangement of my courses to satisfy the requirement.
2.I added COP2250 (Java) and its prerequisite CGS1100.
3.In January 2012 I didn’t even know how to add fractions. I was in a GED program and I graduated in March. Since then I have been studying basic algebra. Since I scored a 125 on the PERT, I was qualified to take the CLM which placed me into MAC1105.

Thanks for all of your suggestions.
