Okay that was the most confusing two hours ever, and I'm still not sure if I registered my courses correctly.

For the first thing, it said in the course book that you cannot take over five full credit class per term, except for freshman who take Health & have the option of taking Applied Music.

AND THEN in the guide @ blackboard, it says you have to register for a language, science, math, english, health, PE, and an elective. That's 6.33 credits. >=| (health is 1/3, everything else is a full credit). Didn't they just say you can't have over 5?!

Also...for Chamber Orchestra, I wanted to audition. However, it wouldn't let me register (I think it might have been full), and even if I did...the Orchestra is audition only, what if I didn't make it?

And finally, I'm curious to what classes you (students entering Exeter) registered for :)

No, you do not have to register for an elective, and esp. not if you're a freshman.. I'm not sure if freshmen are even allowed to.

you need a language, math, english, history, science. that's 5. you can choose to take music if you want. that's .33 credits. you can take that in addition to the 5 necessary ones. that's what i'm doing (west african drumming :))

english 310 (necessary for all uppers)
art 202/ceramics I (but hopefully i can advance to ceramics II since i have lots of experience w/ ceramics)
(math placement, hopefully calc)
(physics placement)
(spanish placement, hopefully 310/AP)
& crew lessons

winter
english 320
history elect (placed out of US Hist): "Why Are Poor Nations Poor?"
(hopefully Span 320)
physics

west african drumming
& no PE

spring
religion: "God and Politics in Contemporary America"
english 330
math
physics

& crew team

I think we are supposed to sign up for an elective...I did anyways. I just followed the worksheet they gave us in Blackboard (Step 3), and I don't think there's any problem. PE is not counted as a class, because it is not taken in school time.

I took Russian as my language, Math, Physics, Junior Studies/English, Electives (HIS100, THR211, THR212), Junior PE, and Health.

By the way, Blairt, I don't think you need to take history as a freshman.

One other question (because I am international :P )...

How many AP courses "are enough"? I am quite nervous at the moment as I am currently thinking of taking 3 in Senior year...

English AP* (I assume Exeter's English is in fact 'AP')
Calculus A/B AP
Chemistry AP

Does anyone know what other subjects Exeter offers 'AP' courses in?
Are the 'economics' courses AP? Are there any others @ Exeter apart from the Languages, Sciences, Math and Art?

like lovelyskye, i found the exeter registration process to be kind of tedious i was wondering if I did it correctly, because my shedule shows only the pre registered classes

yes, you have to choose the courses you plan on taking in fall, winter, and spring. you can change it when you're there (for the first week or so).

please do not worry about AP's. what grade are you in?

rebekke, why would you do that (just wondering)? have you taken high school biology and chemistry?

YAY! Thanks Blairt - I just need to know a few things early, because getting into Australian universities is a little complicated using the AP/SAT system...
