Course Registration Help!

so i’m a bit confused about the whole “meet with your advisor before advanced registration is over” thing.

-are we supposed to actually talk with them in person/on the phone, or will
an email suffice?
-and what exactly are we talking with them about?

i’m actually pretty confused about the entire registration process, but this is the most pressing question at the moment i believe.

speedy answers would be very much appreciated.

Method of having the conversation is determined by the location of your advisor and yourself. Most "conversations" are email and then phone. Or email alone is adequate and quite acceptable.

Have you read the materials which were sent to you in the mail? Have you determined what degree requirements exist and thus what courses might be taken early? Despite the major one might choose there are courses that you can take first semester.

The most pressing question is "when is your registration hold lifted". That is all you need to ask really, the rest is on you. This is college and you are responsible for your own degree. There isn't a counselor who is gonna make your decisions for you. Start reading and ask for help........lots of folks will help but the burden is yours.
Have you used the Penn Forum for new students? Pennster?

wharton does not HAVE to meet with our advisor..right?

i did the advanced thing already...

I emailed my advisor and she gave me some good advice about my schedule and she was pretty quick about it. I got a response about a day later. If you have questions email them, they are a great resource.

careful, i got yelled at when i emailed my advisor (i'm apparently not suppose to do that) :)

What? Says whom?
