So here is the thing: I'm a freshman at university outside the US ( intl. student) and I'm going to transfer to US college after 1st year.
Please tell me, if the college algebra course will hurt my chances to get into decent school?
I'm really frustrated about this thing and I don't know what to do. I will take calculus only in spring semester.
I'm business major and my current courses are:
Principles of Management
College Algebra
English Composition
General Psychology
Intro to political science

What’s your alternative? Don’t you need to take Algebra now in order to take Calc next semester? It would be nice if you were taking a more rigorous course, but math level is determined by what you’ve done in the past and is difficult/impossible to bump up to a higher level.

Thanks for the response
I know that fact, but will it actually hurt my chances, assuming that I have good hs grade on math and my ACT will be good?

I don’t think it will hurt you, so long as you’re fulfilling all the transfer requirements for the program at the transfer school. If they want to see calc, they’ll notice it on your transcript and will likely request final grades after second semester.

Thank you guys! Any other opinions?
