To what extent does the admissions committee consider the rigor of an applicant's courseload?

I'm aiming to go to a top 25 school (towards the lower end). UCLA, USC, and BC seem attractive. I have a 3.8 at a good undergrad (if it counts for anything, which it probably doesn't, top 10 by us news mreasures), and anticipate LSAT score to be ~165. My major is History and I pretty much stuck to my dept. I'm happy with my education but realize that I'm competing against kids with "harder" majors. Will this make a difference given that my LSAT will be on the fence? I plan on applying straight out of undergrad. I'm involved in some extracurricular activities, but they are not impressive enough to make a difference.

Also, how do schools view a semester with 3 courses, rather than the standard 4 course-load (NOT a withdrawal)?

Also how many Pass/Fail classes would be too many? Is 1 P/F class per semester too many, or fine? The p/f class would be in a course that is challenging for me, but interesting - something in math or bio.
